Some nights you don't have it

I don't think the wheels came off because the Hall lost last night. In this league most games are a war, and in a
lot of areas we were off the past four performances.The usual strengths like defense and rebounding were
below past performances and when the Hall took an early lead in the second half they could not muster the energy and skill to put Butler away. I don't blame Willard or the players because some nights are stellar, and
others are like pushing a boulder up a hill.This is a tough league where on any given night you can win or lose.

Also give Butler some credit; they met the challenge at the end and the three pointer when the Hall had almost caught them was a dagger.They are experienced and a tough out but so is the Hall, and there will be the opportunity to return the favor on their court.This team is resilient,tough and I believe will continue to win and perform to the standards they have set.

Last year if some one said at this date, we would be 17-7 and 7-5 in Big East and up in the standings..we would have been ecstatic as we should be. Lets enjoy the ride so far and go win the next game.

We had a great opportunity last night and we didn't get it done. Butler is a good team and they beat us.

We have 6 conference games left.
We need to go 2-0 against St. John's and Depaul and at least 2-2 @Gtown, Prov, X, and @Butler.

The first go around we went 4-2 against these 6 teams. If we can go the same down the stretch we should be dancing.

Finish, finish, finish. I don't want to be saying that about 9-9 after we were 7-4 considering even .500 is an improvement from where we've been.

Must avoid any losing streaks. Should be a fun ride. We've been awaiting a relevant February run for years. It's here. The time is now!
