1. Forgotten man-Rasheed Anthony-For the first time gave some very unexpected and impressive minutes on defensive end against Villanova.

2. Many positives from Nova game. Very optimistic we can win at home. Feel major stumbling block against Nova was our foul shooting. Hopefully KW has them focusing on same in practice.

3. Angel did not have as bad a game against Ochefu as box score may indicate. Feel he has to be more offensively aggressive next Nova game.

4. Did very well considering that Desi had probably his worst game, and foul trouble inhibited Carrington and IW from being on floor together for a good portion of Nova game.

5. I posted before the game that I felt Hart would be our most difficult matchup and I think he will be again, although Jenkins and Ochefu did a lot of damage. All in all I think we gave an excellent defensive effort. As announcers stated, final score was not indicative of game narrative. Some may say it was an ugly game. I think it reflected two teams playing tough defense.

6. Hopefully, we'll get some friendlier whistles at home, and that the vagaries of the game will not result in as many long offensive rebounds for Nova. Is there a way we can offset the tendency of Nova tap back of rebounds which was very effective for them?

I will be the first one to admit I was shocked when I saw anthony getting those minutes over anderson. Not sure I quite understood it, but he did play pretty well. Props to him for being prepared to step in and compete.

1. Anthony did ok. Not exactly sure why he never gets time. He should at least be used before TV timeouts to give Delgado a breather as long as the game will allow it.

2. We're not gonna beat Nova. There were a few positives from the game but we just don't match up well against them at all.

3. I can not disagree more. Maybe it was his illness but Delgado had a horrendous game.

4. Desi having a bad game was by design by Nova. They shut down our weave which lets Desi or Carrington drive to the basket.
We feed off Desi's energy. Gotta figure out a way to get him more involved.

5. Ochefu is our toughest matchup by far. Has completed dominated us because we don't have enough size for 3 games in a row.

3. Angel did not have as bad a game against Ochefu as box score may indicate. Feel he has to be more offensively aggressive next Nova game.

He had a pretty bad game. 4 rebounds in 32 minutes is bad from your main rebounder. I'm not sure what he did outside the box score that you were impressed by. It's not like he stuffed up Ochefu and made him have a bad game. The guy practically had a career high.

Angel has performed better against other top competition like WSU, GW, and Marquette. The rest of the team needs to get involved with boxing out and rebounding. I also think we just don't get Angel inolved enough on the offense. We need to use him just inside the free throw line to break zones and play some hi-lo.

I have a glass half full type of feel from the game and agree that we have a good chance to beat them on our home court if we can shoot better and hopefully have a better answer defensively for Ochefu; I think he made it clear that Angel is not ready for NBA as of yet.

I think we kept Villanova in check defensively (can say the same for them against us). 2 Teams that match up relatively well against one another.

Critique of coaching: When Fox went to the mic'd up Kevin Willard half way through the first half, he was very satisfied with his team's performance because they were playing good defense. On the other hand, Jay Wright was totally unhappy. I thought the Pirates needed to be encouraged to drive to the basket any way they could to draw fouls. They got intimidated by some of Novas fouls, by some of the non-calls by the refs. But coach needs to encourage not only on the defensive end, but also on the offensive end. Perhaps he did and Fox didn't play that part.

Yea, it was worse.

Those miked up segments are pure theater. The coaches do nothing but spout off hollow, ESPN-style talking points that are designed simply not to offend anyone. What Willard really says to his team likely cannot be broadcast on non-premium channels.

Agree with all your points except 3. It was a man vs a child. I'll say this Delgado should have gotten the ball more. I think he becomes more engaged on the defensive side of the ball.

I thought those tap-back rebounds were a terrific tactic by Wright. They obviously practiced that a lot.

KW has to figure out how to neutralize them.
