5 today and 5 tomorrow
From a school insider
1. David Tubek will play more than most expect. He already has a man's body and a decent skillset. He'll back-up Davis at the 4 and even when the Hall gets another power forward commitment expect to see Tubek at the back end of the rotation as a combo/stretch 4.
2. Sha likes the idea of playing Dre Davis at the 4 because it will cause a mismatch. Right now he's the our starting 4. Sha believes that might be his best position because despite his height he's very strong and when he plays the three he struggles on D and actually handles PFs better. Of course that could change to a degree when we get another power forward onboard. If that happens as expected Davis will rotate between the 3 and 4 as a starter.
3. Despite Samuel being the best player of the 4 word is the staff would much rather have the two new centers over Samuel and Jackson, noting that Samuel only played 24 MPG and Jackson struggled in the middle as his backup. Look for EHE and Bediako to share the minutes (maybe equally) in the middle.
4. The staff is looking for three more players. A high quality PF, a combo forward who is a good shooter and a back up point. Hopefully the PF has starting ability, if not look for him to backup Davis. The combo forward would be a rotation piece. And the PG would be someone happy to play 10 minutes or so a game. Meaning he would be more a place holder than a high quality addition.
5. Sha will absolutely recruit a full squad. He's hoping by early June when summer workouts begin. Last year at this time Holloway could not run a single quality team practice. He said he never wants that to happen again.
Tomorrow more on Sha, Richmond, Harris, Sanders, Wusu and Coleman.
