St. John's entering a mess

Legal posturing and maneuvering. This coming from an attorney. Suit gets initiated and ultimately they reach a deal on the buyout. Perhaps MA wants to coach again at a mid-major in the South or Southwest, which bridges any gap.

Btw if I were a mid-major in one of those regions, Anderson would be high on my list. I don’t know if he wants to coach, but I still think he’d be a good get at one of those schools. He’s on the other side of 60, but looks like he can keep up with guys half his age in any fitness context. And he’s always been seemingly one of the good guys in the sport. I think his “style” is hard to win with consistently in a high-major league unless he has insane athletes - because of how the game is played now and what teams and players can do - but in a mid-major league it might be more effective.

This is precious. So holding coaches accountable for the kids to go to class in an environment where they are getting paid in some cases insane money from multiple sources....the image of Mike Anderson not encouraging student athlete Andre Curbelo...

These kids are being rented and compensated...trying to create the sham that they are also students and need to go to class? lol.

Zach is shamful carrying the water for St. Johns. Pay the guy - he worked. The "suit" is weak sauce much like UCONN's suit against Ollie. Respected the work of Zach B, but this really tarnishes his reputation. Not a good look.

Bad optics from an outsider perspective IMO. But the perspective is exactly that. Beyond the Dimeo suit against Anderson, it was obvious there was all sorts of turmoil going on with certain players. We should know having been through litigation with Gonzo and the Powell/Willard situation that there are always details only those connected are aware of. Ultimately all this stuff goes back to this being a business, like everything else. When you have a system now that openly begs fans to pay for college kids to play basketball, this is no surprise. Basketball at every high major Catholic institution - including ours - plays that type of role now.
