Okay, so I spent the last hour reading a good amt of venom concerning 2nites performance[and deservedly so!]. Let's look ahead. Sunday is just gigantic for this team; just like Prov needed a comeback effort after their meltdown debacle at DeP[vs. us, of course], now Seton Hall needs a "put up or shut up" against Johns at home.
You know, when I sit back and think about 2nite, I have seen this happen to other teams[and some pretty darn good ones], at the hands of Villa[X just a wk ago].
Our problem was that during this 3 game trip, we needed to convert 1 or 2 of the 1st 2 contests, and, doggone it, we had a shot at either 1, but then failed down the stretch, after guttily fighting our way back into contention after slow starts. Villa was not the program to get well on, especially after they slept-walked thru their game in MSG vs Johns.
So now we go forward to Sunday. While 98% of the sports world will be concentrating on which of the 2 despicable AFC entrants will go to the Super Bowl[I'm a Jet guy], or the NFC battle of Offense, our little world will be targeting the SHall battle with SJU
Our opponent on Sunday does present some problems. Owens down low is physical and a shot blocker, we need Angel to school this guy; Shamorie Ponds, Lovett, and Ellison hit shots, they must be neutralized, also the "goomba" 2G who comes off the bench, then the JC transfer of theirs from theBronx, Bashir ?, and a player named Williams.
We have to take it to these guys, and early-we have the men to do the job, Angel I'm looking for to be a real force on Sunday, Deano to get back on track, Desi to get into a NY type battle, and, I don't know why, I get the gut feeling that Myles , EronG, and Mike Nzei are going to shine. And, of course, Ish will stand tall[as he always does, in wins], and contribute mightily!
