I would hazard to guess this is not new and no worse than it has been historically. Internet and the type of story makes for good MSM clicks.

My older sister is a retired teacher from a middle class public HS in NJ. A student came out on FB several years ago accusing the tennis coach of sexual misconduct 30 years ago. I asked her about it as she was there at the time, and she gave me five names of other teachers that eventually married students a few years after graduation when it was no longer illegal. Age differences were not that great (5-8 years).

So this is no big deal for you? A male does this to a female student it is disgusting...but a female breaks in a male and it is acceptable? Teachers should be mentors to their pupils not predators and groomers.
