State of the Union?

Decided to distance myself a bit from SHU hoops this offseason. Been checking the board sporadically and it didn’t appear I missed much other than the usual swooning over every bit of positive Nova news while our own program continues to be effectively stuck in neutral so at least that hasn’t changed. Anyways, was wondering if anyone could fill in any blanks for me on any of the following:

- Did the findings of that 3rd party investigation initiated by SHU into the IW fiasco ever amount to anything or get communicated? Was there ever any closure to this as far we’re concerned one way or the other? Or is this going to be another indefinite dark cloud hovering over our already recruiting-challenged program?

- How’s the conditioning of our players looking? (Specifically with respect to Cheese, but wondering/ hoping our conditioning coaches have worked their usual magic on some of the other guys as well)

- Anything worth noting on the recruiting front? (Guessing this one will elicit a short response).

- What did shuathlete do now? I saw a post by someone named PosterFormallyKnownAsSHuAthlete but that can’t possibly be the same guy can it??

LOL! Nothing happened really. i think i originally made an account with my seton hall email and like most, not all, schools they took away access. i finally got logged out and had no idea what my password was and couldnt change it... so i had to make a new one.

I'll take a shot:
- This, to my knowledge, remains in limbo.

- The only thing I specifially recall is that Powell looks incredible - best shape of his life - and has been working out/shooting/practicing like a madman. It sounds like his is reporting this year with a mission. That's good.

- No. Same story as the past X number of seasons. None of our primary targets ever come, none of the names we follow show up, but we'll probably wind up with a decent class, as we have for the past few years, but they'll mostly come without much warning.

- No clue.

I also take your approach in the Summer time, observing from a distance. I'd say the
news in the off season is the transition of coaching assistants and what it could mean moving forward. Looks like they are opening doors in other areas of the country while also making their mark locally. They are blending their skills with Kevin and Grant B to land some nice talent. It looks like 2020 before we see results, but still in the hunt for a player or two from the 2019 class.

The schedule for this season is quite appealing. How will it play out? Tough to say. Yes, Powell is the guy expected to excel in his remaining two seasons at The Hall. T.Thompson is the player SHU fans are anticipating can replace some of the skill sets lost with the graduation of the 2018 Seniors. NBA potential for sure, but how good will he be? Cale looks to be a player that can also fill a void this season.

A big question mark is at PG. McKnight and Nelson have to bring stability to that position for us. For me an "improved" Sandro will be the difference of a respectable season or going to the NCAA's along with the above mentioned PG question.

We can't discount 3 NCAAs in a row. The program has restored respect nationally and we are getting a fair amount of coverage from the NYC media the past few sesaons. Attendance picking up and a much better atmosphere at Prudential.

No real news about the investigations from The Hall standpoint. Probably, as we get closer to the season that story could comeback.
