I know nothing about STAT news And I’ve never heard a medical professional quote them. But I guess if they say they are credible they must be… LOL.

I don't know anything about them either, but do you normally hear medical professionals quote various news sites? Shouldn't it be the other way around?

We are currently in the worst part of the pandemic since it started here. Covid has been the leading cause of death in the US for the last 40 days and it is still on the way up. If the more contagious variant spreads here we might have some serious capacity issues... So in that sense, the article does appear credible.

I’m well aware of the impact COVID is having on our healthcare system and the population. I didn’t bother to read the article from Twittewn because I don’t have enough time in the day to read everything that he posts. I’ve never heard of this site nor have I heard anyone refer to it in the profession.

Interesting article on "Stat News". Stat News is associated with the Boston Globe. See following quote from this article, "Stat News an independent medical publication associated with the Boston Globe, is the latest publication to be haunted by pharmaceutical ghostwriting and undisclosed ties". Another win for the pharmaceutical bros. Seems like a legit news source!

The article is timed well with the announcement of the (incoming) President’s stimulus plan that will among other things have an emphasis on spending for vaccine deployment, testing and contact tracing.

Are you saying the article was written to help support a stimulus package?

No. I wrote what I wrote. If you’re asking if I was inferring anything the answer is also no. the news story coupled with stimulus announcement are consistent.

A lot can get interpreted incorrectly especially over text which is why I asked the question instead of jumping to a conclusion.
