Still Think Harvard but this does sound like us?

going to harvard would be whats best for him. harvard degree + plays in the tournament... hard to beat

"what makes me happy"

Hasn't everyone behind the scenes said that the kid wants to come here, but is being pulled towards Harvard and/or Miami by his family?

"who truly believed in me"

Weren't we one of his first high major offers way back when?

BTW, I still think Harvard too. We will see shortly.

Amazing how so many on this board genuflect to Harvard. Poor basketball choice. Too bad. I really liked Aiken. Well, I guess I should be used to us losing the recruiting wars.

LOL and SHU isnt a poor basketball choice?

That's the world of college recruiting , you have a few successes and a ton of disappointments and this was a disappointment and what you do is move on to your next target. The issue now becomes who is our next priority target where we have a true legitimate to sign that player and right now I don't see one for us and that is troubling.

I think it was more so two things that made me & others feel we would lose: The kid clearly is concerned about his education, and there is of course no comparing us to them in that regard. And then #2: if it comes down to closing the deal on a recruit, you really think Willard is going to win out over Amaker, one of the best recruiters in the country? There's no contest there.

I don't think you beat up anyone at SH for Aiken going to Harvard. In this case it was more about the school than the coach and the value the player and his family put on the quality and value of the education Bryce will receive.Harvard's academic reputation plus Tommy is a top notch salesman and that was a tough combo to beat.

You cannot blame Willard for a kid choosing Harvard over SHU

It would have been extremely foolish for Aiken to go anywhere else.

Question Why did Alex Mitola decide to leave an Ivy League school (Dartmouth) after his freshmen year after putting up big#'s and transfer to George Washington? He could of stayed 4 yrs and graduated from an Ivy League school.
