Strosnider Paces Pirates to Third Place Finish at Salisbury

Salisbury, Md. - Junior Honey Strosnider (Fairfield, Pa.) put up a solid 6K time of 21:31.2 to led the Seton Hall women's cross country team to a third-place finish at the Salisbury Fall Classic, Saturday at Winter Place Park.

Strosnider improved her time in this race, as she finished with a 22:09.50 at Salisbury in 2023. She placed sixth overall out of 116 runners.

The Pirates had five runners finish in the top-30 of the race. Behind Strosnider was senior Julia Smith (Pittsgrove, N.J.), who also placed in the top-10, with a ninth-place finish and a time of 21:43.7. Smith was the defending women's champion of this race.

Sophomore Paige Quigley (Sacramento, Calif.) ran a 22:02.7 to come in 18th place, and sophomore Caitlin Fahy (Ringwood, N.J.) came in 26th (scored 25th) with a time of 22:19.5.

Three freshmen making their Seton Hall debuts, Laura Castagna (Westlake Village, Calif.), Destiny Lopez (Crownpoint, Ind.) and Katherine Barda (Bloomington, Ind.) all scored for the Pirates.

Seton Hall will head to Easton, Pa., next Friday, Sept. 6 to participate in Lafayette's Fall Preview race, which will take place in the evening at 5 p.m.
