Syria: First Christmas mass in Aleppo since 2011

There was some intelligent and well-informed commentary on this board a while ago about Syria.

Since pictures are worth thousands of words, those interested in on-the-ground realities are welcome to see the pictures of today's Christmas mass in Aleppo.

This is first Christmas mass celebrated since 2011 - coming on the heels of the Russian backed victory in Aleppo just a few days ago by Assad which finally expelled the so-called "moderate rebels."

I meant to comment on this post but didn't until I was reminded of it yesterday when I heard that 90,000 Christians were murdered / martyred in 2016 in the Middle East. We tend to overlook the Middle East Christians due to their low numbers overall ... but this Christmas Mass scene in Aleppo is a testament to their faith and to their tenacity. We Catholic / Christian Americans can take a lesson from this.
