NBPA Day 1: Evening Update
National Recruiting TeamScout Hoops
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — The first day of action at the NBPA Top 100 Camp concluded late Wednesday evening, and contrary to history several big-time rising juniors performed very well versus their older peers.
Trevon Duval
St. Benedict Prep / 6'3" / 170 lbs
Analysis
A slick, quick backcourt performer who has grown to 6-3, Duval already is tested on both the EYBL and Under Armour circuits. He's an excellent scorer and playmaker with improved athleticism and a revamped jump shot. We love his confidence and unflappable demeanor along with his tough defense. He's potentially the top point guard in the Class of 2017.
Trevon Duval appears to be on the fast track toward becoming the nation’s No. 1 rising junior point guard. The We R 1 product broke out his full bag of tricks on Wednesday evening, utilizing his quickness and exceptional — truly exceptional — ballhandling ability to make plays for himself and others. Duval not only possesses a fully stocked toolkit, he creates action while moving at full speed. His ability to score on the move impresses all who watch him, including one absurd running hook shot over two big men in traffic. He holds offers from multiple high-majors, including Villanova, Connecticut, SETON HALL, Rutgers, NC State, Pittsburgh, St. John’s, Maryland and others.
