It is why when those "in the know" were posting good news we have 4 million and up to 5 if we need it showed how neither they nor those they were getting information from had any clue on the realities of what was coming. And those of us saying as such a few months back weren't being aholes...we were stating the obvious.
It is what it is. It may be time to close up the D-1 shop if this goes on for many more years.

It’s why this bashing Shaheen is dumb. Seton Hall can’t compete monetarily. And we are not alone. This cannot be sustained. At $5 million we are at the low end. College basketball is over. I have no interest in paying for mercenaries who have no connection nevertheless loyalty to the school.
Seton hall hasn’t been able to compete monetarily since Amaker left. It’s why we had to hire assistants to get players. It’s why Kyle Anderson didn’t come here. It’s why we didn’t pursue guys like Naz Reid. The only difference is the transfer rule. Seton Hall couldn’t compete monetarily when paying guys was kept behind closed doors and Seton Hall can’t compete now that it’s out in the open. The previous 3 coaches couldn’t compete monetarily. They just had the luxury of a sit out year.
Of course we understood the parameters. But the number at the time of $5M was still a step up percentage wise from the previous year. And now FWIW the number is +$6M.
