For those of us who enjoy delicious revenge on the ignominious Rotgers posters who continually predicted the demise of SHU, there is great appreciation for the people who brought Julie Herrmann to New Jersey and to Ms. Herrmann for the havoc that her primary decisions have wrought.

I would not have believed a fictional TV soap opera story about the continual antics at the local version of Keystone Cops University on the Raritan. Truth has become stranger and more unbelievable than fiction that a Hollywood writer could script write.

As was the case with Joe Quinlan at SHU, Herrmann was in far over her head as an AD.

Within months of her hire I posted on the Trove that my Rutgers sources told me she was alienating many at the school with her behavior and lack of funding skills.

The best thing Rutgers could have done was to get rid of her and hire Pat Hobbs.

Let's not forget how we screwed up with the BG hiring. Schools make bad hiring decisions all the time and it can come back to bite them on the A*** all the time . However RU seems to stand out in doing so especially in its BB .program.

Let's not forget that JH was hired not because she was the best or even a qualified candidate but because a powerful member of the RU Board had an agenda and JH met the criteria to satisfy that agenda. As to whether Hobbs is the right candidate or not he will be judged by three results:
1. By how much money is raised for athletics;
2. How successful the FB program is in the B1G; and
3. How successful the men's BB program is and does it make the tourney.

All of those standards seem fair to me to judge if Hobbs was the right hire or not and what he does with EJ going forward will be a big test for him.

Who cares! We are in the middle of a legitimate NCAA run and we have multiple posts about irrelevant Rutgers?? Are you people kidding me??? Their RPI is Infinity and SHU has a legitimate shot to go to the tourney? Focus SHU fans!

RU Men's basketball is certainly relevant for our discussions on this Board. They are (or used to be) one of our rivals. I have to say, however, the rivalry has significantly waned since the change in conferences and the fact that both programs have been down recently. I'm not interested in gloating in RU's misery though. Their fans have taken enough lumps the past few years.
