The $10 million club: College basketball's portal recruiting hits unthinkable levels of financial chaos

Again, the sheer volume of money NIL uncorked without any legal danger is almost incomprehensible.

This country is flush with highly wealthy people who can afford to drop this. And hey, more power to them, they earned the right.

Eerily familiar.

Great read. You can see and feel the similarities.

If SHU has done their part and has the money it’ll eventually start leaking that it’s Sha’s inability to accept the new order. If it’s his reluctance to get passed guys half his talent getting double what he got, he’s going to lose terribly.

Idk I hope that’s not the case.

Any people are starving in the world. Crazy just to win some basketball games.

Coaches ( yes Coaches ) had free rein to get mega $$$$ -- now with Athletic Departments having to consider paying Players ---what justifies paying mega bucks for Coaches? Plus Coaches now have to work harder and longer--no wonder Coaches dislike what is happening.

I just came here to post this.

It is really bad. Really bad. Honestly, I wonder how college basketball survives this.

Something (I think) will be done to reign in the spending, unless revenue share results in the market not being so inflated. At some point most are going to question the ROI, especiallly the individual boosters and fan collectives.

Because you know as well as anyone that you can’t buy a title. If I’m a UCONN fan, I’m proud at how this years team competed in the shadow of 2 title teams. But some here seem to think that if you don’t win a title, the season doesn’t matter, in which case any booster with that mindset is going to get frustrated at some point because the $$ helps put you in a position to compete but doesn’t guarantee more than that.
