With the recent announcement of Dalton's transfer, the previous departures of Thomas, Carter and Singh and the end of Jones eligibility plus the open question of whether Angel will be back makes it vital to add more talent in this class and we no longer has the option of putting all our eggs in hoping to land a monster class in 2018. I would also remind everyone that Anthony will be a graduate senior and could transfer w/o having to sit a year and that could add another ship to fill.

2017 was to be a relatively small class of two players as the year started and concentrating on the 2018 class made sense with 2017's primary goal to add a PG, one that has yet to be filled. If Angel leaves , as it stands now , our roster would be Ish,Desi, KC, Nzei, Powell , Gordon , Cale , Brodie and Anthony . That means you have no PG, no legitimate center, little depth up front, no backup PG and a very thin bench. With far less HS talent available in the Spring as most of the top 150 players have signed or committed Kevin and his staff need to get creative in filling out the roster with talented players not warm bodies and I can see us going the graduate senior route again.

My concern is still 2018 regardless of what the team needs next year. I think we all love the list of recruits we are involved with in 2018. I don't want to see us get 3 more freshmen next year that will need a year or two to develop if we can get 2018 kids that can contribute immediately. Ideally we see Angel return, Duval, a juco center that gives Brodie time to develop, a graduate transfer PG to backup Duval who wants to be on a legit contender, and 5 or 6 studs that want to stay home in the class of 2018 and dominate in front of family and friends.

Explore all options including regular transfers or leaving a ship open for a 1st semester transfer next year.

Agreed 2017-18 is hugely important given the exodus occurring a year from now. The Class of 2014 - Delgado, Carrington, Rodriguez, and Sanogo - was tremendous for us, in every way. Replacing them is going to define the future for our staff and program.

Solving the PG equation is paramount for 2017. I think that's the only immediate need and then you have time for the rest until 2018. I'll sign for just answering that now because if you get a top PG to pair with Powell and Cale, you already have an awesome nucleus.

Did I miss something? Thomas left ?

Also, how certain is it that Walker is going to reclassify to 2017?

Looking at one site's ranking of its top 100 and top 150 recruits 15 have not committed out of the top 100 and 20 out of the top 150. Not a lot of the top HS talent left.

We don't mess with next year. The senior class needs to go out in a bang. There's going to be a lot of ?? after they leave and who knows how quick we can rebuild

No one remembers that Seton Hall followed up the Final Four year with a 12-16 season.
I remember it clearly. It was to be expected after losing all Five starters from a Final Four team. But it was still a very frustrating season to watch. I'd hate to see us go through the that big a dropoff once again.
