Money is tight. Those $75,000 plus basketball paydays aren't happening. Those are the games that basically fund the athletic departments for schools like that. Add in the increased costs of testing for COVID and you have a recipe for this to occur.

Exactly, wouldn't be too concerned at this point with a small conf school cancelling. Money is the huge driver here; if almost no pay games for these schools. no or limited fans, no TV contract money, plus additional costs of Covid, unfortunately there is little money for a school like this to fund athletics.
