Yesterday we discussed the guards. Today we'll discuss the forwards.

How would you rate SHU's forwards against the rest of the Big East's.

Nzei, Anderson, Sanogo (next to Carrington the biggest surprise over the summer), Rodriquez, Carter, Singh.

Top 3?

4-7?

Bottom 3?

Isn't Delgado a forward too? If he isn't considered a 4, bottom 3 in the league because every player you named is unproven.

Gotta have someone listed as a center. Last year Delgado played exclusively at the 5 spot. So for now he'll be considered a center and we'll have that position examined tomorrow.

Bottom 3. I don't know how anybody can say differently. This doesn't look like a group that can handle league play to me. Desi was so badly misused last season and other guys are unproven and raw. This is by far and away the biggest concern going into this season. Willard is going to have to mix and match and hope at least 2 or 3 of these guys step up big.

Bottom 3 based solely on the fact we have one proven big man in Angel and the rest are all unproven question marks.

Hard to rate this group high. But they are young and do have potential.

The keys to me are...

1. Anderson. Bust or Big East starter.

2. Ish. Spoke to Bryan Caver today and he's high on Ish.

3. Nzei, Carter & Singh. Unknowns who do have potential.

I think Angel is all league. I love Nzei's potential, but to be truthful, after Angel I have no clue. I am hopeful one or two of the new guys can help us. My guess on where we stack up in the league is meaningless.

Easily bottom 3.

Don't like the way you grouped these, centers should not have their own category.

As a group it is near the bottom no doubt. Desi would be the best player we have as a forward. And he is not at the top half of the league at his position. So that tells you about the group and the talent. The person I am most excited about is Singh. I think this kid is going to see significant minutes on the floor as you will see Singh, Desi and Angel playing along with the guards.

Everyone else is a huge question mark. At the 4 and 5 positions on the floor, we have one good player in Delgado. Let's hope Ish or Carter can develop quickly. If we are relying on Anderson to be our starter at the 4, we are going to be in big trouble. For defensive purposes, I would love to see Carter or Anderson at the 5 and move Delgado to the 4. Switch them up on the offensive end.

Didn't someone just have a thread touting our "non project" depth?

Now we have a thread talking about how our forwards are bottom 3 in the League?

LOL.

And, yes. Our forwards (minus Delgado) are bottom 3 in the league to date.

I would love to be surprised and see 2-3 of these guys make a quantum leap, but until we see anything on the court, don't know how anyone can say anything but bottom 3.

Very good question. I'd say it's way too early to give an educated opinion on this. We start with Delgado. Does Angel take it to another level on defense and become more diverse on offense? We know he has heart, a big intangible. He'll also be one year older and he may mature physically. Hopefully, they don't do too much in the weightroom with him as that could actually slow him down and make him a less fluid athlete. All things being equal this kid is a true BigEast talent.

The backcourt is going to be a factor when looking at our frontcourt and what we need this year. If Whitehead and Carrington play up to their highschool promise that takes a boatload of pressure off the players in the frontcourt. We really need to see the newcomers on the floor. Plus as we all know you have the OOC and then the BigEast. Those are two separate seasons when talking about Seton Hall Basketball.

We need someone to step up. That's for sure.

Dan has decided that when discussing the Forwards that Delgado is not in this discussion. He will be listed as a "Center"... So you must take Angel out of your thought process when rating our Forwards.

Yeah. Tomorrow we'll discus Delgado, Anthony and I'll throw in Anderson as well.

Clearly Angel, who really is a forward at the next level will play some 4 this year. Especially if Anderson, who is a very good defensive player can help at the 5 spot.

I will be optimistic and say middle three even though most are unproven. There are at least two schools that will definitely be below us.

Hoping that Ish and Nzei will be able to contribute some this year. I feel that Singh may surprise.

Based on this thread any hope of the post season is fading fast, which, alternatively, would be a good thing in the long run I guess. Hope they exceed expectations.

4th or 5th in the BE. Desi plays the 3 and scores on drives to the basket, posting up and hitting outside shots. Veer Singh plays the 3 and hits the 3 pt shot. Nzei uses his athletic ability to be a rebounding machine and scores inside. Ish is much improved and uses his versatility to provide a spark at the 4. Anderson rebounds and hits the mid range shot and uses his experience to do all the little things needed to win. Carter uses his length and athletic ability to rebound ,blocks shots and scores on put back dunks. All the forwards play great defense.
