I hope what happened today means that IW will become the starting PG. He is a great ball handler and passer. (Plus the added bonus that he can shoot.)

If he goes the entire summer and pre-season practicing and getting ready for the PG job, I think we would see him do a great job.

Whitehead, Rodriguez, Carrington and Delgado are four very good and top BE caliber players to build around. It's just a matter of who else steps up and how much the freshmen contribute.

Go Pirates!

The chemistry is the only positive I see from Gibbs leaving. These four guys (and a few other on the bench) clearly enjoy playing together.

Let's see what they can do as the LEADERS of Seton Hall this season.

IW is not a good ball handler. He can make plays but he is not a go-to guy with ball like Sterling was. Plus he was the leading the team in TO every game when he came back

IW is the go to ugh for sure. For better or for worse, he is the go to guy. Hopefully he'll minimize the mistakes.

He should have the ball and we should play offense like Gonzo's was coach...fast and loose

Well, there's no other option besides Whitehead to play PG at this moment. But good ball handler? Way too loose with the ball. Really will need to tighten that up this offseason whether or not he is the point.

78 assists, 70 turnovers. He might be a lot of things, but to date good ball handler is not one of them.

Offense like gonzo we are now set up for the perfect weave to run down the clock and then a one on one drive. Just hope we don't lose our half court inbounds play

Having an actual, fraction of a decent good coach would help whitehead. He picked a school that employs Willard as their head coach and that is no favor to him. Really hurting his NBA stock.

I think we should play how Rick Pitino likes his women...also fast and loose. Ok, I probably could have just gone with a +1 reply. My bad.

Good point re Whitehead's NBA stock. Playing for Willard is going to wind up costing him millions, because now he'll probably have to stay at Seton Hall for a third year (so he can play under Willard's successor). Delgado, too, as neither is close to being a finished product. They might go, but if they do they risk not getting the guaranteed money that comes with being picked in the first round.

Some of you guys must not have watched closely. Whitehead can certainly become a great PG. Last season, he did it as more of a backup. That's why it's important that he become the PG starting TODAY.

His one major non-injury problem last season was when he tried to be too fancy. If he has matured and learns that he doesn't have to go for the highlight reel play and/or pass, he will be outstanding.

And his teammates must catch his passes. That was another issue last season. (Yes, a handful of IW's passes had too much mustard.)

I have to believe that all these Pirates feel they have a lot to prove. I really hope they will spend the next few months practicing and lifting wights with a single minded purpose.

Isaiah's strength, at the next level , is at the point... with S.G leaving, it now gives him the opportunity to get better at the position and increase his chances to make his dreams come true. So for him, maybe S.H. wasn't such a bad choice.

Willard is not making any of these players better. Watch Notre Dame play Duke and you see well-coached teams on offense and defense. Gibbs and Whitehead revert to one-on-one far too much, and our team game suffered. They suffered as well. In the end, the lack of team chemistry and a good locker room cost them far more - two starting guards.

we played our best basketball with Gibbs running the team with Isiah on the bench. not the other way around. When Gibbs was out for two games everyone saw how we played with whitehead running the team.
