Last Meeting:
Howard, 63, Seton Hall 44 (F) – Dec. 28, 2011 (Walsh Gym)
AGAINST HOWARD
Seton Hall and Howard will meet for only the fifth time in history on Friday. Seton Hall won the first three contests, but most recently, lost to the Bison, 63-44, on Dec. 28, 2011. All four prior meetings have been held in Walsh Gym.
SCOUTING HOWARD
Howard is coming off a 15-16 season, which included a 10-4 mark in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play. The Bison defeated Morgan State and North Carolina Central, but ultimately fell to Norfolk State in the MEAC Tournament Final.
Howard's head coach is Ty Grace, who is in her 10th season at the helm of the Bisons' program. Grace was an assistant coach at Seton Hall for four seasons, the last three under head coach Anne Donovan.
This season, Howard is picked as the co-favorites with Norfolk State to win the 8-team Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. Graduate Destiny Howell and sophomore Tyana Walker were named to the preseason All-MEAC First Team. Graduate Kaiya Creek was selected to the preseason All-MEAC Second Team, while Nile Miller earned a spot on the preseason All-MEAC Third Team. Howell suffered a torn ACL prior to the last season and lost all of the 2023-24 season.
Howard enters Friday's contest with a 5-3 record. The Bison had won two straight before falling on Sunday to Georgetown, 69-63. Howard's other two losses were routs, a 24-point loss to VCU on Nov. 10 and a 19-point setback at East Carolina on Nov. 20. Howell currently leads the team with 17.0 points per game.
