THE GAME
Seton Hall will have a short turnaround and return to action on Sunday, December 4 when it hosts No. 24 Marquette in historic Walsh Gymnasium. Tip time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.

MEDIA
The game will be streamed live by the BIG EAST Digital Network and available to FloHoops subscribers with John Fanta and Phil Stern on the call. As usual, the game will also be available over the airwaves at 89.5 FM WSOU and at wsou.net. Spencer Gonzales and Will Swankie will describe the action on the radio. Live stats will also be available.

WSOU is now also airing a postgame "Hall Line" show following its women's basketball games. Be sure to tune in after the final buzzer.

LAST GAME
Senior Lauren Park-Lane (Wilmington, Del.) had a game-high 24 points and Sidney Cooks (Kenosha, Wis.) notched a double-double as the Pirates downed Xavier, 74-55, in their first BIG EAST contest of the 2022-23 season.

In all, five Pirates scored at least eight points in a balanced offensive affair. Park-Lane finished with 24 points on 8-for-19 shooting with six assists. Cooks tallied 15 points and a team-best 10 rebounds along with four assists and four steals.

Kae Satterfield (New York, N.Y.), making her return to Cincinnati since transferring from Xavier in the offseason, had 13 points on 5-for-7 shooting to go with seven rebounds. Sha'Lynn Hagans (Manassas, Va.) had nine points and three steals, while Mya Bembry (West Orange, N.J.) had eight points and five rebounds.

LAST YEAR AGAINST MARQUETTE
Sunday's contest will be the 28th meeting all-time between Seton Hall and Marquette. The Golden Eagles own a 17-10 advantage in the series. The teams split the 2021-22 series with each team winning at home.

On Dec. 19, Lauren Park-Lane erupted for 25 points to go with eight assists and the Pirates surprised Marquette, 69-57, in Walsh Gym. The Hall, playing with only eight available players and two coaches due to COVID-19 protocols, used a thrilling 16-0 run in the fourth quarter to stun the Golden Eagles late. Andra Espinoza-Hunter played all 40 minutes and scored 16 points with seven rebounds, four assists and two blocks. Sidney Cooks had 12 points and six rebounds.

On Jan. 26, The Hall fell to the Golden Eagles, 62-43, at the Al McGuire Center. Marquette entered the game allowing just 54.7 points per game, 18th fewest in the nation, and limited the Pirates to just 43 points and 28.1% shooting from the floor. The Hall was also out-rebounded 54-to-25. Espinoza-Hunter led the Pirates with 13 points to go with four rebounds and two steals. Park-Lane had 11 points, five assists and two steals.

SCOUTING MARQUETTE
Marquette is coming off a stellar 23-11 season in 2021-22, which includes a 13-7 mark in BIG EAST Conference play. The fifth-seeded Golden Eagles routed fourth-seeded DePaul by 20 in the BIG EAST Tournament quarterfinals before being bounced from the event by top-seeded UConn in the semifinals. Marquette's season came to an end with a third-round loss to Toledo in the WNIT.

This year, the Golden Eagles were picked to finish sixth in the 11-team league according to the preseason coaches' poll. Senior Jordan King was named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team. They return King and starters Liza Karlen and Chloe Marotta. Gone are Team All-BIG EAST forward Lauren Van Kleunen and guard Karissa McLaughlin.

Marquette enters this weekend with a 6-1 overall record. After drilling its first three opponents, the Golden Eagles opened eyes at the Battle 4 Atlantis, defeating No. 3 Texas and RV Gonzaga before bowing to No. 20 UCLA. Most recently, they opened BIG EAST play with a 78-57 victory at Georgetown on Friday.
