The lineup has to change

Can’t go out there with Wusu or Dual at PG. it’s horrendous and insulting.

As much as people say we don’t have a PG. What we really don’t have is a PF. Aligbe is new to the sport I presume and Toumi is a walking foul, turnover or terrible shot. Gus is a D3 player. He gets slower and slower every game.

So we can either go small and play zone on defense.

Felton
Jenkins
Coleman
Middleton
Ehrierene

Or go big and hope we get a lot of offensive reboubds

Felton
Jenkins
Coleman
Ehrierene
Okorafor

Either way, Felton has to play and a lot. Having him handle the ball should help open things up for Jenkins.

What do we have to lose. Can’t put Wusu, Dual and Aligne out there that do nothing but clog the lane and throw up a prayer

I'd go with your first lineup. It has 2 freshmen and 2 sophomores. Put the older players back to where they belong as proven power conference role players and hope the younger players can show something. Then hold onto them if they start showing well like Marquette does. Addae-Wusu, Dual, Aligbe, Toumi can all come off the bench as needed. Okorafor backs up Erheriene with Yalden end-of-bench.

We don't have a lineup anyway. We don't have a rotation. Why he is hellbent on this 10-player rotation thing is beyond me. It's stupid and it's stunting growth and cohesion. We have a roster of good defensive role players trying to score. And even that's been spotty now with the game against Vanderbilt and yesterday we allowed Monmouth to shoot 54% in the 2H.

We start offense way too late. We have very few guards willing to drive and set up anything: drive to score, drive to dish, drive to setup a ball reversal, anything to move a defense. We do none of this. Why, I have no idea. It has never changed all year long.

Shavar Reynolds was so much better than Dual or Addae-Wusu, it's not even close. Think about that.

I’d go with the first lineup as well. It would give us 4 potential scorers on the floor rather than the two we have now. How much worse can the defense be?

We aren’t going to win scoring 50 points a game. As seen.

Well he started the game with Dual, Jenkins, Coleman, Aligbe, Erheriene. Then the team makes a good run 9-0 to take the lead near the end of the 1st Half with Dual, Jenkins, Middleton, Tubek, and Yalden playing well. He subs in Aligbe who promptly turns it over then loses Bashir on consecutive possessions to kill the momentum.

Then Sha comes out to start the second half with:

Dual
Jenkins
Coleman
Toumi
Okorafor

And they looked so bad together Monmouth was up by 10 less than 3 minutes into the half. We never recovered.

That starting lineup is horrific. It’s pretty clear that Sha isn’t a fan of Felton. Why I don’t know. Imagine a 18 year old Shaheen sitting on the bench behind bums and what he would think. Yet that’s what he’s doing now as a coach.

I know the lineups I mentioned won’t happen because he’s in love with Wusu. So expect some more horrendous, broken basketball. Never gonna win with only 2 scoring options on the floor at all times.

For me thats what I want to see. Build for the future. Since guys are being paid they are not owed any playing time. In addition start getting Godswill more and more touches. He has to get used to touching the ball and passing back out. Why wait until next season? It appears its going to be a 20 loss season or there about. No way Sha will do any of this, but it could develop some chemistry for the future. Felton has to get into a 5 assist per game mentality. Also, develop a midrange game. With his handle he may be able to create quality opportunities. Go back to fundamental basketball. Watching Wusu and Dual dribble away the shot clock is counter productive. My gut says Sha will continue to use Wusu and Dual exactly the same way.

For such a defensive minded coach, we never switch looks on defense. Our zone even w willard has been porous. I dont know why others can do it and we cant. Dual gets beat badley and our guards including jenkins dont have great footspeed. Why not switch things up and see what works. We all new bashir puts up points. No doubling or trapping of him at all. Just typical.shu 3pt defense.

I remember folks here wanted Mamu to never see the floor, he was a D3 player as well when he was a freshman. How did that turn out? If you trust the coach you let him make the decisions that are best for his players. He’s going to put young guys in situations to succeeed. He knows what kids can handle on the floor. The players all have different personalities, none of us knows his players like he does. In Sha I trust, let’s see where we are in January. If Gus sticks around, I’m on record saying he becomes a very good player. He reminds me of Patrick Auda who was also a D3 player and didn’t belong in Big East. Pat was mocked on these boards, how did that work out? Pat as a first year player had lots of his shots blocked. Pat as a Senior was always in the right spot on the court. Good basketball awareness, Gus has that.

Felton’s minutes are increasing, I bet he plays more and more. Kid is not afraid to take an open shot. Sha is bringing him along slowly building on his successes. Totally agree with you that Felton is the future 100%. Let the coach do what he does best. I would not be surprised if Felton is in starting lineup mid January.

Yalden is the least athletic player I have ever seen on a Seton Hall team. Your comparisons blow him out in terms of athleticism
