In no particular order

1. With a purpose
Samuel set the tone early scoring 9 of the Halls first 11 points. A dominant game from start to finish in just 24 minutes of action.

2. Disappearing act
Credit Bates of Butler for starting both halves with a bang. But then in each stanza he disappeared after that. Butler getting him only 6 (5-6) shots in 32 minutes. What were you thinking?

3. Kooking with gas
There is nothing left to say. Again, when he plays with passion he is probably the most important player in the conference. Don't believe me. Watch the Hall when he is on the bench.

4. Ambidextrous
Staying with Richmond. Doesn't matter what hand he passes with. Combine that with his size and control of the Rock (he always keeps his dribble alive), and of course his court vision and we're talking first team All Conference.

5. Ouch
Not much bad last night. But while on the court I saw Yetna slightly limping, favoring his left leg. Starting to seriously think that's it for him.

6. Let's talk
Totally unprompted Holloway told the media in the post game about a team meeting HE CALLED after the Creighton debacle. The players responded well.

7. POTG
Why describe it when you can witness it.

8. A man of few words
Of course I'm talking about Shaheen Holloway. LOL

He was so happy with the first half effort that when I asked about what he told the team at the break and why they came out with with 8 minutes still remaining before the start of the second half he simply said he wanted to get the players as much time as possible to warm up. Not buying it. You know he was satisfied.

9. Say what
Are you kidding me. A plus 19 for Richmond just in the first half. Kid's a freak.

10. And yet......
despite his play at game's end it was Odukale, who did not have a good offensive game but shined on D who led the team with a +24.

11. Credit my Midterms
Obviously Jackson read the critique and played IMO his best game as a Pirate. Sure we have seen the offensive explosions before. But I was just as impressed with, wait for it, his defensive effort.

12. Well done coach
Scratched the pregame plan and FINALLY stayed with the players who were getting the job done on the court. No subs until the 8 minute timeout.

13. Their only chance
When a team is being dominated like Butler was, to get back into the ballgame the first 4 minutes of the second stanza is critical. Butler started well with an early inside basket by Bates, but after that, game, set and match.

14. Nice
When the opponent's biggest lead in the game as noted in the box score is BUTLER - Biggest lead 0 (1st 20:00) you're having a good game.

15 Creighton over Butler
Is Creighton (biggest lead over the Hall by 32 points) better than Butler by 60 points (Seton Hall's biggest lead last night, 28 points)? Maybe. as those two games were played just days apart.

16. The future
We all see the potential. But Tae Davis seems to be struggling on the court, although not from lack of effort. Holloway unprompted mentioned him and noted that he has to get him to play as he did in the preseason. Saying he has somewhat hit the freshmen wall in the postgame.

17. The effort's there if not the results
Harris continued his season long offensive struggles, being the only rotation player to not score. But short of his only missed shot, he had a strong workman like effort in 15 minutes. Unfortunately that's the best we can say about the grad senior in this very disappointing end to his career to date.

18. The D
Was SHU this good or Butler that bad? As always the easy answer is both. But SHU on many occasions against weaker opponents has been suffocating on defense. The key now is to be consistent when playing the better teams.

19. Musts
The Pirates have 3.
Beat Butler. Mission accomplished.
Beat Georgetown. We'll see.
Beat DePaul. They better.

Then the games that could determine the direction of the season. UConn and Marquette at the Rock.

20. Welcome back
Saved this for last. How nice was it to see Gary Cohen back where he belongs? With Dave Popkin calling SHU games on the radio.
