A brief editorial comment; as I write the following, I am watching our game against Bradley on ESPN 3 streaming video on my PC screen. I almost forgot, but I am forced to be reminded how much I hate to watch any game on my PC!
To change gears for a moment, this is a perfect opportunity to extend my sincere thoughts and prayers to all of my friends, fellow posters and their loved ones with my warmest and heartfelt wishes for all to have a blessed, peaceful and happy Holiday Season.
I have not posted on our Message Boards because of some medical challenges and other reasons however, reading our Message Boards, it is time some things be said again about the subject.
To begin, and I have said this many times in the past, Seton Hall has the most knowledgeable, long-time, sincere, loyal, etc. basketball fans anywhere. To prove my point, tonight while watching the game, all I notice is a sea of blue, which of course, represents our fellow fans cheering on our team. From what I see on my screen, we have the most number of fans from any other team in this tournament. and that really speaks volumes, and says something unique and special about Seton Hall Basketball fans. It makes me proud to call myself a fan(atic).
As some of you are aware, and I usually keep this very quiet, over the years I have gotten to know the players, coaches, AD’s and others associated with our basketball program quite well, including the current players, coaches, etc. It is no big deal and I am not claiming anything more; however, I have a longtime friend, who is very knowledgeable about basketball, he is very close and gets accurate information from not one but two coaches and never posts what he knows and because of that, he has my full respect.
I realize how some of us can easily get frustrated and I am not preaching (fine I am-LOL!) however, there are other posters who think they are more important and knowledgeable than they actually are, and they post as if their information and resulting comments are always 100% accurate and trust me, each could not be more off the mark. Perhaps it makes these posters feel important or, something as they continue to post inaccurate information and worse, personal hurtful, information for all to read.
Let’s support our players (most of us do), our coaches, AD, etc. and as I have said in the past, of course make appropriate criticisms, some are well-deserved and accurate, but think before you post, because once you do it is out there for the whole world to read.
