Link doesn't work. But if they are doing that, that's wrong. It's discrimination, plain and simple.

how is it discrimination? stadiums always have rules about what is and isnt allowed. this isnt a topic that someone cant change like age, gender, race, etc.

Exactly. If you wanna go to the game, get vaccinated. If not, watch it at home. This isnt hard lol

Why should you have to take a vaccine to attend a sporting event? Stop and think for a second. You're nuts.

The fact that Americans are actually willing to go along with this nonsense is how nations fall and turn to tyranny.

Your health decisions are nobody's business but your own. Certainly not an usher in a stadium or the random fan sitting next to you.

they seem within their right to prevent a contagion in their private arena. its no different than screening people for temperature and symptoms.

There is no contagion. Covid mania is over.

If you think this is discrimination, you need to read the law. It’s not. Non vaccinated people are not part of a protected class of people like race, gender or national origin. So all a private business needs is a rational basis to deny entrance. Obviously, this is a rational basis.

Clearly not discrimination, but not sure it is really somewhere we want to be headed in this country. And to be clear, I believe people should get vaccinated.

agree. im hoping its a temporary thing.

Agreed. My assumption is that it is(was) just for a short term period where we hope enough people will be vaccinated so Covid is no longer a concern in this country. A business decision that MSG is allowed to make.

Realistically, we are probably at the point where that move is unnecessary and long term I wouldn't be supportive of measures like that. Should be no restrictions by the time next season is here.

Doesn't anyone learn from the past? Covid mania is being used as an excuse to put stuff like this in permanently. It's about control and nothing else.

Look what happened after 9/11. All the unreasonable nonsense you have to go through at airports? Don't get me wrong, basic airport security is fine. But taking off your shoes? Going through the scanner with your hands over your head? Now the upcoming real ID BS too. Thank the 9/11 commission for all of that. Government and private industry never wastes a crisis. They won't with this one either.

Why do you assume that? Covid hasn't been a problem for a few months at this point, yet here come all these new policies.

I hope you're right about next year. Sadly, I don't think you will be.

Because there are still a lot people getting vaccinated. This is part of the push to get the numbers up.
The higher the percentage of people vaccinated now, the lower the chances this comes back in the fall.

Eventually we will be done with vaccinations. I don't expect Covid to be an issue by the fall in the US so I think we are unlikely to see any vaccine requirements.

I think it will be a slow process, we were so Covid scared/trained, whether right or wrong, especially here in the northeast.

Going to stores this last week, most people are still masked and almost all employees. I still find myself wearing a mask if most other people are, even though I am fully vaccinated, it is no longer required and really not a fan of mask.

I do think we as a society need to start moving on, as numbers as of now are really non existent and the longer this drags out the more negative and permanent impact it will have on society.

Lots of CNN articles on this or that new strain

I agree it will happen slowly, but I do expect any vaccine requirements in the country will be short lived.

Besides it probably not being a great business call, we should be at the point where it is unnecessary.

I have zero issues taking an extra minute to ensure some psycho isnt going to bring down the airliner I an traveling on. If you have nothing to hide who gives a crap. People are crazy, security protocols are necessary.

Guess reading comprehension is an issue for you too. Sad. Never once did I say airport security isn't necessary.

You've changed. I miss the old kniespolice.

Lol you and your reading comprehension comments. You have an issue removing your shoes and going thru a scanner.....that's a you problem. Security increased after 9/11 because 3,000 Americans were murdered due to lax security protocols, is that a good enough reason? I'd like to make it home safe to my family so I dont mind the security protocol and the extra time.

Why make us go thru metal detectors at Prudential? It slows the lines and people are cold, boo hoo.

Since when can’t you change your gender? Gender is quite the comparison. I don’t want to be vaccinated. I don’t want to change my gender. Those are choices. Can I be refused for those choices?

It wasn't because of lax security protocols. 9/11 was much bigger than that.

I do think we should do away with metal detectors at the Rock. I've never supported their use. More theater to make people think they're "safe."

Legally, a private business is within its rights to do this under the present context. Whether it is a sound business decision, time will tell. For something like the Knicks playoffs, it didn't matter. They have no shortage of fans. Our hoops following isn't like that. If The Rock does this, query what impact it could have on attendance. We certainly have an "older" fan base when you consider the die-hards, IMO, many of whom are likely to be vaccinated. But folks like myself (in my 40s) often go to games with my young kids who I guarantee you will not be vaccinated. So we obviously won't be going if there is a vaccination requirement to get in the door.

Whether MSG should have done this, legalese aside, is a separate question. Not too long ago, there was an uproar about certain owners in a team sport requiring their players to stand for the anthem. People on the side of Kapernick screamed "1st Amendment" violation at the top of their lungs. But, like this, there was absolutely nothing discriminatory or illegal about an NFL owner making his employee do something like stand for the national anthem. It was either a business decision or moral decision for those involved making those decisions at the team level, and I think more the former because they did not want to piss off any percentage of their customers. But, legality aside, that certainly didn't stop the discussion or stop people from being annoyed, one way or the other. If stadiums do this going forward, you are going to have those same debates.

Do stadiums require the annual flu vaccine?

9/11 was able to happen because airport security was a joke. Airplanes were soft targets, just as schools typically are.

Metal detectors aren't theater, they work. Let's just do away with all police while were at it. You leading the defund the police movement 09?

I’m with you Knies

but the Patriot Act was a bit much. We also had Iraq and Afghanistan wars.....all reactions to 9/11...

so while i don’t agree with 09 on everything, (although I almost always disagree with those he spars with here), I appreciate 09 pointing out that our government has and will overreach....schooling is the most obvious example right now (which is indefensible)

I am a strong supporter of the police and law and order.

Exactly. Appreciate you, you've always been fair and able to disagree with civility.

As someone who survived 9/11, your comment reeks of absolute ignorance. I am so sorry that you have to be inconvenience to raise your hands as they scan you and take off you shoes. You are a person who just loves to bitch and moan and complain about all the inconveniences in your little life.

I love my life. Interesting to see that you must be having some troubles since you get off on taking pot shots at random people on internet message boards. Hope you get the help you need. I wish you good luck and much happiness.

No shirts, no shoes, no service…. But but but my constitutional rights!!!!

Apples to oranges.
It’s really not, but you let your emotions cloud your reasoning. It’s not your constitutional right to go to MSG. MSG, like the local shop down the shore, can have requirements for entry. I think you don’t know what the true definition of discrimination is in this instance but carry on.

this is outrageously moronic
