I've never understood that viewpoint. Provoke the opposing player to get a technical. Don't be the stooge that gets the technical.

It's a game, never a real fight with real threats. Your teammates should know the difference, and if they don't, explain it to them, that you have their back in a real fight in the parking lot, just as you have their back in the game by being smart and not giving up free points. Situational awareness.

A push is just a push. Sorry, but I don't buy that thug talk. The big TV contracts, the sponsors, the PG image that conferences want to portray. There's a lot of $ at stake and that needs to be protected. It's the City Game. Let them play! I agree with Wojo. Let the McGuire''s spin a game 10 times more physical and "thugish" than last night's, one that involved real fighting and an embrace at the end:

Not making excuses for John, and we shouldn't make them for Mamu either. I get the flagrant against Powell who was pushed while was in the air. Compare that to clobbering a guy----but "going for the ball"--- on a lay-up. The latter is much more physical.
