In high school there were rumors that Tauren Thompson was a bad kid. At Syracuse, especially after he left the program the Syracuse Rivals board trashed him, Even going so far as to report he got into several physical altercations in the locker room.
From experience, and I say this noting that Sha introduced me to him and then we spoke separately for about 10 minutes last year after the Blue/White scrimmage he was very shy, but pleasant.
Since that time I have spoken to a non SHU coach who echoed that sentiment even going so far as to say after a workout this spring he attended he sat with Thompson and gave him a few offensive pointers.
Often in that situation a player will listen and then blow off the advise. Instead Thompson imm went back on the court alone and worked on what he was told.
That and everything I have been told about his sit out year belies that he is a bad kid. In fact it seems the opposite is true.
