Early last week IW told SHU he had decided to come back. This coincided with Zagoria's tweet that Whitehead was leaning toward returning to the Hall. But shortly after that Whitehead changed his mind (or succumbed to the pressure to do so).
The Hall knew late last week he was gone (as did a few in the media) unless he had a last minute change of heart. I knew as well but couldn't definitively post the news as I was asked not to (just as certain media members didn't either).
Yesterday I was told the team's name that has made Whitehead a guarantee that they will pick him in the second round. It's not my info so I cannot reveal it. But after the draft I'll note the team's name unless it is posted by the source that gave me the news first.
My personal opinion at this time is IW made a bad choice. But we'll see if that's accurate. He'll have more workouts with NBA teams and hopefully play himself into the first round.
My sources say that's doubtful but nothing is written in stone.
Bottom line, my gut is he wanted to come back but family matters trumped that desire.
