By now the info on Tiny Morton is public knowledge.
A few months ago there were rumors on this board about an assistant possibly leaving. However the poster noted that it was Fred Hill when in fact in was Morton.
Morton was never happy with the grind of being a D1 assistant coach.
Plus, and you'll not hear it spoken, he like Willard is a control freak when it comes to running a BB program. At SHU Tiny was clearly third man on the assistant coach's totem pole. Not something he was ever comfortable with.
In the practices I attended he never spoke instead just staying on the sideline arms folded.
I absolutely never got a chance to know him well. Yes I spoke to him at the Hall a few times, but I immediately sensed little return interest. He wasn't rude or dismissive, but he also wasn't overly friendly so I just kept my distance other than to say hello when our paths crossed.
The shocker is money. Morton, who is reasonably well off financially left over $200,000.00 on the table. In most men's world that's a lot of money.
