Last year many of you know that I was quite displeased with the Men's program and the apparent direction it was heading.
So I wrote Pat Lyons a letter and cc'ed Pat Hobbs and Dr. Esteban.
Pat wrote me a brief response the next morning assuring me he received my letter, read it and understood my concerns.
I then saw him that afternoon at the Women's NCAA Selection Show party... I introduced myself to him and we briefly spoke about my letter before discussing the Women and Tony.
Throughout this past Winter, I ran into him at almost every Women's home game. Whether it was in the lobby of the Rec Center, The Walsh Gym lobby, the court or in the stairwell going up to my seats by Willard's offices. Every time we ran into (past) each other we shook hands and said hello.
In late February I promised him that I would write him another letter this offseason - a much different letter! - and his response was great... "I love reading letters from fans, I cannot wait."
So today, I held up my promise and wrote him a letter on the state of the Men's and Women's programs. I also touched on the concerns I had last season and on the future of the programs as well as Seton Hall University. I once again cc'ed Dr. Esteban on the letter.
I know Pat is on vacation, but I am sure he will respond as quickly as he possibly can.
