When ARod hits his 660 HR does he deserve the 6 million dollar bonus in his contract or does the extending circumstances of PEDs preventing the Yankees from promoting the event eliminate that clause in his contract?
 
Yes he does.

1) The perception is that the Yankees can't make money off of his individual career milestone.

2) The union will be defending A-Rod. It's a dangerous precedent if the team loses this case and could lead to an untenable situation in the next labor negotiations
 
to me it comes down to whatever the contract language is. If the term was unconditional, he's entitled to whatever his contract provides for.

I'm sure the Yankees tried to find whatever loop hole they could to get out of the contract back when the suspension was put in place by MLB. If they couldn't find a way to get out of it, I doubt that $6M provision would be any easier to void.
