Very tough loss. McDermott has done a really great job at Creighton. They always have great offensive principles that work with different types of players and their defense has jumped up a level during Kalkbrenner's career.
They are a program that is well-equipped to compete in the transfer/pay players era. They have great fan engagement, they pack their arena every game, they raise funds for whatever they need and they are quick to act on the changing landscape of college sports.
Their coach brings in the right players year after year. They quickly identify who they want and they bring them in. They've been knocking on the door of a Final Four the last 5 years with solid tournament success. Losing Isaacs will be a lot to overcome this year but they have a star 5 and a good veteran PG - the two hardest positions to find in NCAA. If Zugic is cleared by the NCAA they could still be a dangerous team.
