The Transfers have started as Patterson and Johnson from Syracuse had friends and family announce they are looking to transfer. Would we have any interest in BJ Johnson. He is a 6'8" forward who plays with a lot of energy.

Strengths:
This is one of the youngest seniors in the country. The lefty is the type of player that begs to continuously be evaluated so that his long-term ceiling is properly defined. He's a work in progress with strong tools. Hangs in the air to rebound, has a knack for getting to the ball and his basketball instincts are sharp. Comfortable putting it on the deck and attacking.

Weaknesses:
Has shown range with his jump shot but he either doesn't trust it or hasn't developed it to where it's a weapon. He will need to sharpen his range, become a threat from the perimeter. His body is immature. While that's not a huge deal, it's the type of situation that may limit him out of high school but also afford him the opportunity to make big stries in college as his man strength comes in.

Bottom Line:
Combine his youth with his physical and mental tools and you have a fringe high-major player disguised as a forward whose body is not ready. Wise college coaches may look past his physical limitations and see him for the potential steal he is down the road. Pay close attention to him because he's one of the only players we've seen improve nearly each time out in the spring of 2012.

Travel Team: Jersey Shore Warriors...

Went to Kobe's school. We need a Philly area guy on the team. Was hoping for Horace Spencer, but Pearl gobbled him up.

would love to add BJ Johnson! Also They are transferring because they were told by boehiem that he doesn't want them to stay. Is there any way that would allow them to acquire a wavier to play immediately?

It looks like Johnson is primary interested in Temple and La Salle. The familiar story, wants to be one to home. Penn State just extended Pat Chambers yesterday, so even though it isn't anywhere near Lower Merion, kids know he'll be there if they committ, at least.

Well yeah with a 3 scholarship penalty, every slot is more valuable...you think Boeheim wants to burn slots with players who aren't McD's? He doesnt want to go out that way, does he...?

Doesnt surprise me...watch for more manuevering as he looks to fill those 10 slots with quality in all of them...no longer has the luxury of an "end of bench"...

Pat having coached at Nova, does a lot of recruiting in the Philly area. Dunphy at Temple loads up on transfers.
