Checked in all the kids that transferred out, and it’s early but the only two getting any kind of minutes and contributing are Jo Smith and Jahari Long. Powell, Conway, Weston barely getting any time.
They were two years ago.Brodie starts for Drake and Nelson is getting run at Manhattan.
We're talking about a young man who sat all last year and didn't have a real senior year of high school ball (plus the original injury occurred back then).Weston has hip and back injuries but reportedly has no restrictions. If that’s the case, it’s odd that he has only seen 6 mins and 7 mins respectively in his two games thus far. He was a huge get for us a couple of years ago. Here’s to hoping he can hack it in the A-10.
You might be right but I’m skeptical of the “no restrictions” designation and the lack of minutes. URI lost both of those games too so it’s not like the starters were hitting it out of the park. I can’t pretend like I follow URI basketball but it’s odd to see him play such limited minutes after being cleared of his injury. Maybe the coach is just playing it slowly. We're talking about a young man who sat all last year and didn't have a real senior year of high school ball (plus the original injury occurred back then).
He's way behind where you might normally expect him to be at this stage. There's a good bit of rust to work off and until now, he's never played at this level (save those three seconds last season).
That in itself telling. We considered a guy, he who shall not be named recruited and considered a big get who can't crack the lineup of an A10 team.Weston has hip and back injuries but reportedly has no restrictions. And Conway?Westin is trying to comeback from significant injuries. Give the kid a break.
