A few tidbits from Clark on players of interest
The big story at this year's NIKE EYBL's (Elite Youth Basketball League) Dallas Session, which was the marquee event in the nation during the first Live Period for NCAA Division I College Coaches this spring was the total dominance by 6'3 Jr Cole Anthony from Briarwood (Archbishop Molloy) NY. His stat line pretty much speaks for itself, as he finished with 35 points, five rebounds, three assists, five steals, 10-14 field goals, 6-6 3-pointers, and 9-10 free throws in his team's 64-59 win versus Bradley Beal Elite; 29 points 11 rebounds, two assists, one steal, 8-20 field goals, 2-6 3-poiinters, and 11-13 free throws in his team's 75-65 loss against the Bluff City Legends; 19 points, seven rebounds, three assists, one steal, 7-17 field goals, 3-5 3-pointers, and 2-2 free throws in his team's 63-50 loss against the Mokan Elite; and 28 points, 14 rebounds, eight assists, three steals, 8-15 field goals, 6-10 3-pointers, and 6-6 free throws in his team's 63-38 win over the Mississippi Elite Basketball Organization. In other words, he averaged 27.8 ppg, 9.2 rpg, 4.0 apg, and 2.5 spg and made a living with his speed, quickness, and explosiveness in transition, as he had more than his share of steals, deflections, and rebounds and was as good this time around as he was bad back when we saw him last winter in the City of Palms Classic, where he his team went 1-2 and Anthony failed to land a spot on the all-tournament team.
