Q&A with Dave Popkin. Part 1.

What were your impressions of Holloways first season at the helm, specifically in the coaching job he did on the court?

"I thought the coaching job that he did was tremendous. I don't think that he had the roster that he will eventually have. And yet he coached the team onto the bubble and into the NIT, which I felt was a victory. It was a team that, obviously, had some deficiencies and some of those things you can't coach away. If they don't make free throws and if they're not a good passing team and not a good three-point shooting team, then you're going to struggle on offense. It's hard to fix that in a few months, especially when you inherited some of the players. I was impressed with his game coaching all year. I think that he learned a lot in terms of how to run the program and how to deal with the media and how to work his rotation and that is to be expected. It was his first year as a high major head coach. I think that he was a great pick and it'll prove to be a good move for Seton Hall. He has very high expectations. He has a very low filter; he'll tell you the truth, which is refreshing in sports, and his style. I think that players, fans and everybody else have to get used to that because that's who he is."

Can’t shoot 3s. Bad from the line. Can’t pass. And yet they were on the bubble into mid late January. Solid job by Sha with upside going forward.
