Coal exists because it still provides 27% of total energy.Some hope to replace by renewables but

are we using it for electricity because politics are keeping it relevant or because we actually have no other options?
Maybe in those states that have coal power plants, the cost to build a different source is prohibitive cost wise and the taxpayers would prefer not to see their taxes go up?
its almost like we need taxes and subsequent projects to be more transparent too? is there a theme here?!
I’d have many idle threats around Christmas time without the existence of coal.
There are several things that make coal problematic as a stocking filler:
- it can potentially drive someone to a safe space because how psychologically hurtful it would to be to receive it
- I’m sure there are severe coal allergies out there because of our compromised immune systems
- you would need a special hazmat permit to remove a piece from your home in some over regulated cities when removed from the stocking
- coal is black, so you would also be called a racist
stocking stuffer is antisemitic you must include jewish people when making rules about christmas.
