Trump actually encouraged Russia to commit crimes against the US and/or a private citizen. I thought this was just a BS headline. But when I actually saw the speech, my mouth was left wide open. He only cares about winning at all costs and even if it has to be treasonous behavior.

We really need to look into his business dealings with Russia and Putin. Something is here. I do not care if you think that Hillary is a crook. Better a crook than a traitor to be President.

Just a stupid thing for Trump to say, smh.

Wouldn't Putin want Hilary though as president, what with that reset and all?

No he would not., Clinton is a bit of a hawk. Trump is threatening to walk away from NATO. Putin would greatly prefer a Trump Presidency.

Is he threatening to walk from NATO or just make sure the members uphold their end of the deal???

So due to a contractual dispute, the US will allow one of its allies to be invaded by Russia. I know you said on a case by case basis you decide, please tell me which one of the 28 countries you would sacrifice to Russia?

Trump says a lot of things, including "walking away from NATO", so I usually do not react to any individual comment he makes.

However, he consistently makes statements that in one way or another undermine NATO. I do not agree with that policy. "An attack on one is an attack on all" is a philosophy that must be maintained publicly, even if we are unhappy with certain members internally.

Since NATO IS a contract, with new stipulations on defense spending, why use US blood and treasure if the others don't uphold their end of the deal? Why so hawkish?

Stupid question, how does one answer that now when it's "on a case-by-case basis"? What if a NATO member provokes Russia and Russia attacks? The US should jump right in, no questions asked?

A "provocation" can be many things to Putin. Did Ukraine provoke Russia to invading the Crimea? The reason for NATO is to prevent BS Russian provocation justification for invasion of our allies. It's our allies that we need to stand together against Russian aggression. This has been the basis for NATO which is the most important defense pact that we have. Nothing hawkish about this at all. The US will jump in no matter what as they should. This is the whole point of NATO.

Trump is an idiot but part of what he says is absolutely fair game. I dont like either candidate but Hillary will continue the war mongering for sure. Her time as Secretary of State did nothing to disprove that. The Obama Administration has said they have gotten us out of Iraq. At the same time what a lot of people don't know is we do have plenty of boots on the ground involved in lots of fighting (fact as my best friends nephew is a SEAL and my nephew is a Ranger in Special Forces and they told me a lot in the last few months). The SEAL is a sniper and has lots of kills and was named SEAL of the year and it all happened in Iraq. Also fact is that we are training many other countries armed services like the Ukraine. But both of my nephews have told me as soon as Russia makes one move, the Ukraine military will run the other way guaranteed and the same is true for the military in Iraq and Afghanistan (also confirmed from my cousin who just retired as a Colonel in the army and spent three tours of duty in Afghanistan). We have a lot of resources in different places of the world putting their lives on the line right now that the American people know little about. Asking countries to at least pay their fair share (because their armies won't be much of a fighting machine when the going gets tough and the US will be there) is not much to ask and for that Trump is 100% right. He needs to shut his mouth and not make comments like he did that can be interpreted or misinterpreted to say he hopes Russia finds more dirt on the DNC.

What Trump said was stupid. But what Hillary doesn't say is also stupid. She will continue war mongering because it makes her and her cronies lots of money. Bank on it because her actions and relationships tell you all you need to know.

And the Dems out in all of this is to blame Russia. Well maybe if they knew anything about server security they wouldn't have to explain any of this and that includes Hillary in a HUUUGE way if you get my drift.

You are conflating Iraq with NATO. First, NATO is a defense pact. If any of the members of NATO are attacked, the other member nations will defend - that is Article 5.

Iraq has nothing to do with NATO. Iraq is a country we invaded. We are responsible for the costs of that war. We made the mess out of that country and the area. There are no easy answers. No other NATO country has any duty to help us with an ill-conceived war.

Second, Ukraine is not a member of NATO. But are we as a country that is concerned with Russia aggression not to try to help Ukraine? I say we do have to help and train them. Our involvement there is the only reason Russia has not invaded the entire country of Ukraine

Third, to not honor NATO collective defense because member nations have not paid, is ridiculous. They all contribute in someway and the defense of those countries is the defense of the US. Article 5 has been invoked once in the history of NATO and on the behalf of the US after 9/11. Trump is 100% wrong on this issue and is dangerous to the security of this country. He lacks a fundamental understanding of foreign affairs that a sophomore majoring in Political Science at Seton Hall would have.
