Nobody is talking about him but I feel like he's playing as good, if not better, than the rest of the sophomores. Thoughts?

* the bar isn't that high for anybody right now.

I think he’s been a typical 9th or 10th man at best. He’s played a whopping 31 mins over 4 games.

I do think he is playing well, has a decent stroke at the line, athletic and a good teammate. Came from Memphis with Penny who is a good judge of talent. Hoping he can be a contributing part of the rotation. Looks like his back ailments are behind him.

Nobody (outside of Chauncey occasionally) has been at the level they need to be in order for this team to succeed. And the outlook on this season definitely isn’t rosy at this point.

That being said, if we learned anything from last year it’s not to write off a team due to their non conference play. Way too early to be calling guys whiffs. Let’s circle back in January and see how these guys develop.

People are going to start talking about him now, but I guess Sha thinks he needs to learn to rebound.

Things are looking much better. They need Coleman to keep edge throughout the game. We get them 2 going the rest will come.

Biggest issue to me in free throws.

DAW also needs to see the bench when the game is on the line. Takes the air out of the ball, makes poor decisions, misses free throws

What group of five do you play that are all better options? Keep in mind he is probably our best and most versatile defender.

End of game? I suppose we're treating Harmon and Felton as non-options.

I'd be fine with taking the starters and swapping DAW for Middleton or Dual

Thanks for actually answering and trying to provide a solution. Sorry for the delayed response.

Personally, I don't think these are better options. DAW is a better FT shooter (63.5%) for his career than either Middleton or Dual and Middleton appears to be a lesser ball handler than the others.

You mentioned taking the air out of the ball in a previous post. I suspect that happens at Sha's direction. It's also a typical end game move to have the PG run down the clock. Admittedly you would prefer some ball movement but I think that's Sha's way of preventing mistakes given how poor we've been offensively.

Has a nice 3 point stroke for sure. My guess is that the overall IQ is still a WIP.

Came from Memphis? Wasn’t he a HS recruit for us?
