We all remember Roxanne Chalifoux, don’t we?

She’s the piccolo player from Villanova’s pep band that turned into a meme when she was caught on camera playing through her tears after the No. 1 seed Wildcats were knocked out of the NCAA tournament by N.C. State:

She went viral, to the point that she sat in with The Roots on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

And if that wasn’t enough, now the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum wants to commemorate her moment with a bobblehead of her own. All they need to do is to raise $5,000 through a Kickstarter, and as of Monday morning, they were halfway to that goal.

This girl is a microcosm of the sense of entitlement that is rampant amongst Nova fans. That was an embarrassing, but somehow fitting scene.

I knew people who cried after SHU lost to Western Kentucky in 93. It's not about entitlement, it's deep disappointment. The band travels with the team through the BET and NCAA's. A college girl can't be disappointed?

I saw her on Jimmy Fallon a few nights after the loss and she was very humble.

I'm going to chalk this up to short-sighted knee-jerk reaction to everything Villanova. There's absolutely nothing wrong with this young women showing a strong emotional reaction to her team losing.

You are probably right to an extent. I live in Nova country, which probably skews my perspective, but I stand by the fact that it was embarrassing and awkward to watch. I tend to let my emotions get the best of me in the privacy of my own home when SHU loses (might have thrown the remote or my cell phone once or twice, which I'm sure my wife would describe as embarrassing and awkward as well) but I don't react like that in public. Granted, it's more disappointing to lose in the 2nd round as a #1 seed than it is to lose a regular season game that ultimately doesn't matter, but that goes back to my self-entitlement comment. It was just an awkward scene and reminded me of the general mindset of the dozens of Nova fans I interact with on a weekly basis.

It's not even so much a reaction to her team losing. My guess is she probably couldn't give a flying fig about Villanova basketball. Her reaction was about it being over for her. She's a senior, this was the last time she was ever going to play in the band. Her time in college, which was likely the best time she'll ever have in her life, was coming to an end.

The last basketball game I ever broadcast on WSOU was the NIT loss to Georgia Tech in 1998. When it was just about time to wrap up I turned my mic off, put down my headphones and let my partner (an underclassman) read the credits and finish the broadcast without me. I didn't want to read those credits because I could feel myself getting emotional. It wasn't because Seton Hall lost to Georgia Tech. It was because that loss symbolized that something very special to me was over. The best time of my life was about to end.

Sadly, nobody ever offered to make a bobblehead of me.

Fair enough. That's a perspective I didn't consider. Still felt awkward watching it but I'll shut up now. Lol. Glad she's getting some pub and a bobble head out of it at least.

when are we going to have bobble heads of our players crying after the 30 point evisceration from marquette kicking us out of the BET? We could have an entire starting 5.... good times!

How can Villanova fans have a sense of entitlement? They've done nothing since winning their only national title. The last two times they went deep in the tourney, it ended with them bawling their eyes out against Florida and getting shalacked by UNC. Please don't forget that we have a richer basketball history than Villanova.

Villanova hasn't had a quality frontcourt since CDs were invented.

The way Villanova plays in the post-season every year, that bobble head is probably going to become a staple for them. It could become a post-season logo for Nova.

Remember the inimitable Bobby Gonzalez bobble head? o_O
You mean Barack Obama
