Hall leads 30-22 at the half. Excellent team effort
so far with only 8 available players according to announcers.

Powell leading the team. TRS playing a better game and has over 10
already. Tough to defend Nova's offensive system that creates so many open looks.

Nice crowd at Walsh and the gals are giving effort and playing with focus.

Game available on BigEast Digital(Foxsportsgo)

NYCP, thanks for starting the thread.

All I've got is SOU. But, thrilled they are playing strongly today.

I'd like to see Claire play a stretch 4 off the bench next year.

Her Defensive principles have gotten better as the year has progressed. She is also fighting down low for rebounds and boxing out.

Yes, they are playing control with only a couple of crazy plays. Very serious demeanor I'd say.

They are rebounding with focus when Nova misses. It's not going to be easy as Villanova's
offensive system is tough to totally defend. SHU was successful when they put some pressure
on the Wildcats in the backcourt.

33-27 .... Nova has changed Defensives schemes. I can't quite tell the difference yet. But it has stagnated our Offense a bit to start the 3rd.

BTW, Dr Esteban and his wife were sitting in my section.

Got to speak to them before the game.

@buzzershot and I are happy with their effort in this game. Much better body language and team concepts on D and O.

Tiff has played very sparingly, btw.

SHU leads 42-38 after 3 quarters. TRS was the offense in that period. She has tied
the school record for scoring and should break it in the 4th.

The inexperience with a couple of the players has led to a couple of turnovers, but they are
playing very hard. Almost all of Nova's points have come off 10 3 pointers.

Great effort! That was not easy and when Nova surged ahead they did not fold and
played their best basketball of the day.

Nova scoring 80% of their points from 3 is just crazy.

Powell stepped up in the first half and TRS in the second half.

I give Tony credit for sticking by his guns on a day when they were undermanned. He sent
the right message to the whole team moving forward. The gals had a meeting on Saturday
and we appreciate their response and effort.

This game may have saved the season. We shall see. SHU had an RPI of 29 which will change
after the loss to Gtown and win over Nova. They still have a shot an at large, but have to close out
on an upswing.

SHU at 34 as I type this. If you look at their team sheet on the site you'll see 4 top 50 wins, no losses outside the top 100 and (in stark contrast to the SHU men) a non-conference strength of schedule ranking of 35. Those numbers add up to lock status. Just don't do anything stupid these last 4 games (all against teams outside the top 100) and they're safely in.

A big win for the Pirates for many reasons.

--First, the team finally showed energy and hustle.

--Second, they are now tied with Villanova and Xavier in the loss column.

--Second, the Pirates are now an NCAA bubble team. They really need to win at least three of the last four regular season games, and go deep in the Big East championship.

All of those four games are winnable.

--The team looked so much better, especially when you consider that their starting PG did not play.

--TRS played an all-around game where she did not take bad shots, and she passed and rebounded.

--It was really a big team win. Everybody contributed. When they play team ball, the win.

My two areas of concern are:

1- Why in the world do they continue to leave 3-point shooter WIDE OPEN? They get burned repeatedly. Every team knows that the Pirates are going to collapse and all they have to do is pass the ball for a WIDE open shot.

Please stop doing that.

2- Taylor Byrne was not on the bench. What happened?

--Congratulations to the Pirates and to TRS. I can't believe they didn't stop the game for a ball presentation. That's a major accomplishment.

Go Pirates!

Weird stat in that Nova only took 4 free throws making 3. Can't remember a women's game where one team took so few shots.

Spoke to Tony and Lauren. Both want to thank the fans who despite the recent struggles continue to support the team here and in person.
