Good thing that another thread can alert Snake Tom as to the score of the game LOL.

I know my buddy Pat (and any others at the game) can chime in on this thread to contribute additional observations on the game. I wanted to share some notes on the topic of player development so far as of this game. Note that I do not cover the Starters. They're awesome already. We'll add them to the discussion, just want to share some love for our other players.

First Player In: continues to be Jordan Mosley. She continues to fly under the stat radar but Coach relies on her immensely. She understands all the packages and has the ability to fit in with any other combination. She is the tireless, unspectacular but critical glue player. Really continuing to appreciate her contribution. I need to focus more on what she does so I can report on it better. Honestly, she's really important but you don't easily see it.

Next Player In Due to Matchup Needs: surprising me all day long, it's Martha Kuderer. She was recruited for her three point shooting. Heck. She's a scrappy Minnesota-tough kid. While I lament the loss of Tara Inman, my favorite lock-down defender, I strongly believe that Tony is trying to see if Martha has what it takes to fill Tara's role. Scrappy on offense too. In fact, she did something all fans adore - she tended to linger in a stealth kind of mode during the start of a Marquette transition and managed to foul it up repeatedly, leading to points in some cases. The steal she got after Taylor Byrne tried twice on a missed set of put backs followed by an immediate bounce pass feed to Taylor to get her basket brought the house down. Give me more Martha Kuderer!!

Total Team Respect: There's Tara Inman, back from surgery, in crutches, standing at the top of a pre-game drill line, and every player came all the way back to her to give her a high-five. And she stop at the top of the introduction line as well, doing a ginger calm version of her pre-game salute to each starter. I cannot wait to see how she plays next year.

The Future is Awesome: How about TT Smith. Our leaders are Aleesha Powell and Kena Richardson at point, but TT is fantastic. In the second half she got tons of minutes and at one point simply hammered the **** out of Marquette with basket after tear-drop-miracle basket. She's just a freshman and she's going to be our winning PG leader going forward. She's learning from Kena and Aleesha. Seems like Tony has the pipeline working the way you dream it should be.

Continued Strong Bench: Jordan Molyneaux got a lot of serviceable minutes today. She seems to thrive on playing against taller forwards, so it's good see her playing against a bit smaller team. She had some misses, but she also had some really strong plays on both ends.

Ima Get Points You Cannot Stop Me: This goes to Taylor Byrne. Few minutes first two quarters, more minutes second half, but there was a stretch where she sat on the baseline and got the no-look feed and put back like FIVE TIMES IN A ROW. She continues to play hard. Man - our freshmen are getting good minutes and making the most of them. We've seen all sorts of terrific games from her, and they will only continue.

Last But Showing Growth: Finally Claire Lundberg did two things I'm looking for. (1) She slashed along the baseline from the corner to try to get a layup against two defenders. I wish she got the points to reward her effort because she made a strong baseline move and should really try to add this to her game. It will open up her 3P opportunities. (2) She correctly sealed off slashing attempts at the basket rather more often than I recall from previous games, so she's making progress here as well. I want Claire to find the tools this year so that her next year will finally prove out.

Pat, others, would love to have your additional comments.

Just looked at the box score. Claire did score on that baseline drive.

I'll add more later. When I'm on my laptop.

Thought she got her points on another shot via put back.

And looking forward to your comments!

Jordan Mosley (one of my favorites, as you know Blue) - She had a rough one today, a bit off on the defensive end and wasn't hitting her shots - when she got em - on the offensive side. She seemed a bit in a funk today, but still brought the lunch pail.

TT Smith - Came on super strong today... A bit wild still, but she will be a star and she's getting a much better sense of the game as the year goes on. She has very quick hands too. Tip/Steal/Deflection machine.

Byrne - Same goes for her, fighter underneath... Some uneven games, but getting better overall. Drawn Charge machine.

Jordan Molyneaux (another favorite!) - She seems unsure of herself when she first gets into games... She then got it going defensively, fighting underneath, a few blocks, some loose balls... Then her offense started clicking a bit. Good looks by our guards on one or two of her shots.... Blue you remember what I said about her in our first conversation this year! I'm calling this one.

Kuderer - Blue and I said the same exact things about her... I like seeing her progression.

Our bench is a legit 4/5 deep. Throw in a 6th person off the bench if you want. And that's with two of his top bench players hurt. Crazy!

Great stuff Pat. I remember Molyneaux's first scrimmage last year and saw how she leaped and blocked with her quick hands, so I call back, good buddy! But I defer to you. We are absolutely seeing the same on the freshmen.

Mrs BP just played Tony's post-game comments. He spoke about how we are not a team, we are a program, because a program sustains itself year in and year out.

Where were his post game comments? I didn't hear em on SOU they only did 5 minutes then went to The Armenian Hour.

Now onto the Starters:

Tab - She seems like she is getting out of her funk now... 20 points, 8 boards, 1 assist, 1 block, 1 steal, 0 TOs... But took 20 shots, however, most of them were either in and out or a few bounces on the rim and then off... Nothing wild and off. Like in that 3-4 games stretch she had.

Kena - Took a scary tumble today, came back and aside from a few hiccups, she went off today... 15 points, 8 assists, 4 boards, 3 steals, 2 TOs... She's getting herself under control more and taking those mid range jumpers instead of wild drives... However, she still makes me yell "no, no, NO... YES!!" numerous times a game. Gotta love it.

Leesha - Steady, Steady, Steady. Lunch pale... Shot over 50% from deep and overall. Only 4-7 at the line. Oh well, lol.... Low assist high turnover game for her 1:3 today... However, she had 2 steals.

Tiff - Great to see her getting out of her funk too. Another double-double for her. 11 and 12. always fights downlow and can nail the 3, she's also becoming very dependable from the line and on D.

Bird - 5 points, 7 rebounds, 4 BLOCKS and 1 steal... Whoa. She just keeps growing defensively and offensively as well.

Sidenotes: It's great to see Tiff and Tab smiling, laughing and dancing again. When the team plays loose (which they provide and allow for) they are a sight to be seen. When they play uptight, the games are different.

Absolutely love seeing the comment about being a program! That needs to be the mantra for every single Pirate team and coach! No excuses! Coach Bozzella actually gets it; Seton Hall needs more people like him!

You nailed it Blue and Pat.

Blue poked you out to me... When you waved to him at halftime I was standing next to him to his rufht in the blue T-shirt.

Tuesday um just going to lean over the balcony before the game and yell "hey buzzershot... Where are you?!?!?" Lol.
