Seton Hall University women's basketball fans are invited to join the Pirates for their second annual end of year banquet, to be held Friday, May 1, at Mayfair Farms in West Orange, N.J.
The Pirates will take a look back at one of the most memorable seasons in program history, as the 2014-15 squad returned to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1995 and posted a school record 28 wins. The evening will commence with cocktails beginning at 6 p.m., with dinner and a ceremony to follow at 6:30 p.m.
The cost to attend is $50 per person, and RSVP's should be sent to Seton Hall Director of Basketball Operations Marissa Flagg at marissa.flagg@shu.edu or (973) 761-9298.
Fans will be provided with the opportunity to meet with Seton Hall coaches and players, relive the 2014-15 season, and see special team awards and honors handed out to members of the team. Seton Hall went 28-6 last season, capturing its first-ever BIG EAST Regular Season tile, while returning to the Big Dance for the first time in two decades. The Pirates appeared in the national rankings for the first time since 1995 and set a program scoring record.
Graduate Ka-Deidre Simmons was named First-Team All-BIG EAST, an AP and WBCA Honorable Mention All-American, and the Metropolitan Division I Women's Player of the Year. Daisha Simmons was also a First-Team All-BIG EAST and WBCA Honorable Mention All-American honoree, picking up First-Team All- Met honors. Junior Tabatha Richardson-Smith earned Second-Team All-BIG EAST and All-Metropolitan accolades.
Head coach Anthony Bozzella picked up a pair of major awards, as the BIG EAST and Metropolitan Coach of the Year award recipient, after leading the Pirates to consecutive postseason berths and 20-win seasons.
