We’re still not partnering with Frank The Tank?

The guy is a major Seton Hall Fan. He was courtside yesterday at the game.

His Frank Walks series on barstool is becoming mainstream media popular. He’s becoming a household name.

And what do we do? Nothing. Doesn’t take a genius to see a donation per mile with a split going to a cause and the rest to our NIL would be easy and majorly beneficial in more ways than one.

But no, Mike McBride sleeps at his desk collecting his guaranteed paychecks. Empty suit.

Anyway, here’s our Seton Hall supporter putting content out with Rutgers’ Eric LeGrand.

I don't know who's a bigger joke. The tank or you. May as well just say we suck and call it a day. Even a win yesterday wouldn't have slowed down your scorched earth tirades.

Go blue! Yay! Participation trophies for all. Ice cream at bunnies. Seton Hall is the only legitimate program left, our kids go to class, pray and say yes ma’am! That’s what you and the rest of the geezers think..

Yeah let’s pass up a big mainstream opportunity just so we can have Dan beg here for $5 a clip on nonsense instead all because you old timers don’t understand the new media landscape.

Yes he’s a very big deal right now. And the school obviously knows, when he attends he sits on the floor behind the basket. But there he was the other day putting content out for Rutgers with a Rutgers alum. Letting them steal our own guy. Pathetic

As for the school reaching out, i wouldn’t know. Nobody would know because Mike McBride is asleep at the wheel and there’s no information for anything.

The only thing the fans ever hear is when they beg for money and that has become lazy and irritating

but like, do you want him to donate money? does he have money? make content?

maybe the school did reach out (of course i could easily see them not).

lol. Take the information for what it’s worth.

If you google what is Frank “the Tank” Fleming’s net worth… this is what comes up.

https://au.youtubers.me/frank-the-tank-fleming/youtube-estimated-earnings

Over 11M video views and 51,000 subscribers for 3000+ videos is meh.

His reported $26,000 net worth isn’t moving the needle.
figured as much. pretty sure he's employed as a meme /charity case after having a mental breakdown about nj transit.

its not like we're missing out on some big hot ticket

My goodness, does Seton Hall not have marketing classes or something?

That’s Just the small time thinking that keeps us where we are. It’s not his individual net worth that’s up for grabs.

It’s the guests, the publicity, the potential promotions, the fact he’s a fan.

Everybody here drools over John Fanta.. apparently he saw the value in it.. but nah, let’s pass. We don’t need help.

Have to disagree..why have Mad Dog Russo, Mike Francesca did content with him recently? Gio mentions barstool regularly with Frank being at the front of that list

He is well represented character of a very very strong, influential sports company..having him (thus the barstool machine) on our side would be a huge plus

Now if the school doesn’t want to be associated with that brand for reasons, than that’s their decision not much to argue about

and we don't know if they have reached out (again i never give shu the benefit of the doubt anyway). that's one thing that is possible, a lot of advertisers try to steer clear.

I might be a geezer (3 kids under 9 years old), but you are the one from the participation trophies generation, and your "donate nothing, criticize everything" BS is tired. Take slack-jawed Frank out for ice cream at Bunny's, you dope.

I’m a huge Barstool fan and follower.

The Tank is a character, of which they have many. He isn’t one of their major content producers with followings, like PFT/Big Cat or Dave himself, or how Mcafee was before he left, or Call her Daddy before they left.

I really don’t think Frank the Tank moves the needle again on anything in a meaningful way when it comes to Hall basketball.

Again I disagree

I 100% agree with EVERYTHING you say however, we have zero maybe even less than zero juice locally or nationally so someone like Frank and being even on the periphery of the barstool universe can help us

If that were true -- and it's not necessarily so -- I would try to get Portnoy on board, pay him to do promotional stuff at Bunny's -- then you'd have something.

I was at Bunny's for the NIT Final last year and took a minute to say hi to Frank, and I can't say I've ever been less impressed with a "celebrity," and I've met some beauts. It's great that he's a fan, but do we want a slobbering buffoon for a mascot?

You don’t get it ha but it’s ok..I don’t think it would be for your demographic

Yea I agree let’s call up portnoy,,why didn’t anyone think of that?! Hahaha

So an imbecile mocked/celebrated by Barstool for his appearance and foolish behavior is for your demographic? My condolences. And you don't even know my demographic, but now I have an idea of yours.

maybe their point is what else are we doing?saving the time and energy for what?

this guy really does seem like a slobbering bafoon who just yells all the time (but then again we just voted a president whose not too far off). (not meant to be a political post)

i suppose just having SHU brand out there as much as possible is good. not just for the basketball team too

this dude isnt some silver bullet.

for what its worth, things like having the seton hall pirate at the giants game mascot halftime game is what we need more of. in the past we wouldn't have been a part of it.

It’s a valid point on the lack of coverage. I think we see things the same, you just think it’s worth it to at least explore stuff with the Tank because why not given our current predicament.

You’re really missing the entire point but it’s ok

You didn’t like him on the Mets playoff livestreams?

No! And I'm a Mets fan. I think we can do better, I do get your point that he's a public figure, I just don't know how much difference it makes, like Dehere23 days. It's like getting Stuttering John just because he works for Howard Stern.

He’s nothing like stuttering John

Ah ok gotcha because those met livestreams were HEAVILY viewed. I bet his reaction to the Alonso HR had more views than anything SHU has released in years combined

My Mets text thread references him constantly

He has over 160k more IG followers than SHU

He is an avenue into other barstool talent

But yea he eats pizza wrong so screw him

Barstool is pretty spread out when it comes to college sports fandom. Portnoy is a huge Michigan guy. They have a number of Duke hoops supporters. Ohio Tate and several others who are Ohio St nuts, I believe. Big Cat with Wisconsin. Reags (I think) with Kentucky.

They also have several who regularly put up content on Uconn and St. John's because of Hurley and Pitino (and I think there is a connection too between a number of them and Mike Repole, including Portnoy).

Trump on the Presidential election using pod casts like Frank the Tank. We should be all over this. Banner ads that a portion goes to the NIL

Just look at the names listed. This Exactly why we should be on that media platform

As a huge Mets fan, I desperately wish he was a "fan" of any other team. His act is beyond obnoxious, posting videos of his childish temper tantrums whenever something bad happens and then crickets when something good happens. Why? Because he's not about supporting the team, he's about creating clickbait.

Exactly. Or maybe have the players earn their NIL money and have them go on walks with Frank instead of just giving them handouts

It’s called content, and if it works it works. Not saying we need him to do that for us. My whole point is the frank walks series. Another lost opportunity.

The problem with that is there is zero marketing reason for Barstool to have a "Tank Walk" with one of our current players or frankly most college players. I think they only did it for Sha because of the Tank-connection. Doing it with a guy like Eric LaGrande and all the wonderful stuff he does makes sense on various levels, and he's far better known than any of our players.

I didn't know Trump did a "Frank walk". He had the famous interview with Portnoy back in 2020 when half the Barstool office threatened to quit because how dare Portnoy interview the sitting President if given the opportunity, lol.

Try to start something with it then. Pledge $1 to onward setonia for every mile Frank walks in the next year and try to get others to join you. Get some traction and maybe Frank and OS will jump on to help publicize it and recruit people to join you.

Totally disagree the idea here is not fandom it’s NIL/buzz/juice we have less than zero literally

He provides some..to that audience

Also barstool provides some relevance or “big time” appeal to anything..if it was a watch party yesterday with him having an epic meltdown on the 3..people think whatever it is is a bigger deal

We need that

Again if the school doesn’t want to be associated with that brand for reasons…that’s fair and fine whatever

But if it’s because there is no “value” there that’s dumb imo

Any attention is good attention, I agree with that. But given the generally childish and unsportsmanlike nature of his meltdowns, I do think it would be a bad look for the program to lean to that. If he does that for us, sure, take the attention and be happy with it, but it needs to be organically coming from him. Not us asking or worse paying him for it.

Agreed but if Frank wants it to benefit SHU, I’m sure he’d be able to have the ability

Portnoy doesn't like watching Michigan football struggle so he publicly stated that he would pay $2-3 Million every year to get a legit QB.

That inspired another wealthy Michigan fan (wife of billionaire Larry Ellison) to want to help. Michigan's leaders introduced them to Portnoy and they quickly corroborate with the football coach and stole a top HS QB from LSU with a 4 year - $12 Million NIL deal.

Now we don't have anything like that which could apply to Seton Hall but we need our well-known fans and successful alumni to publicly donate and speak about Seton Hall NIL. Having Jerry and Fanta at events are great. Need more of that. When we get large donations they should be publicized. .

I agree we shouldn’t pay anything
