We Just lost a great women

I think if any President, and by extension, First Lady, transcend politics, it is the Carters. Most would agree he was not an incredibly effective chief executive (albeit during a very challenging era), but the way these two have continued to serve selflessly and tirelessly for almost 45 years since leaving the White House is aspirational for all high-level civic leaders. She has earned a peaceful eternal rest, and I believe President Carter will gladly be not long behind her, with the same reward.

Well said…RIP.

They committed themselves to giving back.

They didn’t post memes or tweet…it was about actions.

I would respectfully suggest that this thread should join the Bruce Pearl thread to off the ship

Why? That thread turned political. This thread is a tribute to a great women who passed away.

I always post a thread (RIP) when famous people pass away.

I will also humbly ask again for readers to stop telling me how to run this site.
It was only a suggestion and it was made respectfully so not sure why it is someone telling you how to run the site. Consider it withdrawn.

Your respectful comment telling me what to do was answered with a humble reply.

I am constantly being told what to post and not to post here and on the Trove. No other moderator that I am aware of goes through this and I am now putting a stop to it.

This is a very good obit. I voted for him twice. Have come to believe that he was much better as an Ex President than he was as a President. But two things I admire about him. He tackled the Middle East problems with great effort. Many who followed avoided the Middle East as it was too hard. And unlike many but not all of his successors he didn’t seek to make tens of millions off his presidency. I suspect Mrs Carter was in complete agreement.
