What is Going on With Desi

How has that situation been going with him? He played last night which is good, but looked really out of it. Maybe some nerves thinking he needed to come out with a good performance to make up for his past behavior?

He was a big piece in beating nova last year. but iirc he played more 4 and mixed it up down low alot. when he started mixing it up down low last night he did wel.

I just hope hes good to go mentally and comes back with a strong performance on saturday. he is an awesome X factor.

Let's just assume the best for the moment. He knows he messed up. He and KW cleared the air the next day. Even in that best case scenario, it would be human nature to be nervous, humbled and tentative in your return. Make that return a road game at Nova, and it is a recipe for disaster. My guess and certainly my hope is that he is back to X factor kick butt normal by Saturday against a team that is not a meat grinder like Nova.

We need him in so many ways. He opens up a lot and Whitehead looks for him to score and take some of the burden. Plus his three point shooting has been a blessing. I sure hope he get's back to being Desi. I loved the level of improvement he had shown.

You could ask the same question about Angel or Ish or Mike last night. Nova is good. We had a few bad days of practice leading up to last night and the team didn't do some things that have aided in our success (rebounding for instance). I would not read too much into it unless he strings a few bad games together. He'll be Desi and he'll be back.

Anyone else notice one of the first timeouts in the huddle with willard on tv. Willard was saying something about we'll take that shot everytime (im assuming desis missed 3) before and break and proceeded to applaud him fow great hustle on D. Desi was off screen but it seemed like desi was fetting down on himself and coach wouldnt let him get there. Great job by coach.

Didn't like the offense we ran last night. Barely any touches inside to Delgado. Why not have Desi post up Hart?

Completely agree. Absolutely no focus on getting Angel involved in any real way or calling plays for Desi on the baseline. If Desi's jumper isn't working, need to get hIm in the paint working off the dribble. Was talking to a colleague who watched the game - Nova offense looked smooth although they missed a lot from outside. The comment about our offense was that it looked schoolyard. I'd have to agree. Other than a few nice passes and open looks to the corner, we did a lot of dribbling and one-on- one stuff. Nova offense light years ahead of ours at this point.
