What was that?

Ally Oop attempts down 8 in the first half? How does coach allow that? Terrible. We were out coached badly today.

Sha took blame and also said his team drank the Kool-Aid and don’t prepare.

Clearly. And most of the turnovers were dumb and unforced. What a mess that was.

Wow. How did he let his team drink the Kool aid in the first place? Do you think Shaka let's his team get a win like that to their heads? We got blown out by Marquette twice?

im taking shu W and whatever the spread is next game.
We gotta win the next 3 (at Butler, at SJU, DePaul).

Get 4 of the final 7 (Villanova x 2, Georgetown, at UConn, at PC, Xavier, Creighton).

That’s 12-8. The goal. But nothing easy for this team.

Unbelievable was I at the one of the best comebacks we had on Tuesday and back tonight to watch the same team?

Really disappointed in the lack of energy/effort today. No sense of urgency. They started off nicely, getting out to the 8-3 lead and hanging in through the first quarter of the game. I can't believe the wheels fell off so quickly after that. Even midway through the second half, Marquette was begging us to get back in the game, yet we still couldn't muster anything up.

For as good as Ndefo was on Wednesday, he was equally as bad today. Brutal performance. Same with Samuel. Marquette carved us up. Look, I know they're a really good offensive team. I wasn't expecting to hold them to 60 points. But come on, guys. Get out on the shooters. How many open looks are we going to allow for Jones and Joplin? A lot of easy stuff around the basket too. Our vaunted defense took the day off.

The crowd was large and ready to get into it today, sensing a huge opportunity. Unfortunately, the team didn't seize the moment and gave us nothing to cheer about. I don't expect much from this team, but today was unacceptable. No reason you can't compete with Marquette on your home floor after knocking off UConn.

I believe the word used often on this board is a beta performance.

Guess Sha got a "Big Head" too cause he was totally out -coached today --as an example , how about telling Team how much Clock is left after You call Time out? Why not tell Jackson to put his hands up ? So much. ..
As if the 26 turnovers weren’t bad enough, we had what, 4 SC violations? Brutal.

And it was insanely consistent: We had 4 players with 3 turnovers each, 5 with 2 each.

It happens.

It happened under Willard, it happened under Gonzo, it happened under Orr, it happened under Amaker and so on. It happened to Bill Self today, it happened to Cal last week. It used to happen to Coach K and Roy too. Nobody's immune.

This is a bad matchup for us and Marquette exploited that all day.

Put it in the rear view mirror, have a good week of practice and go to Hinkle and mash Butler.

This is the dumbest I’ve seen us look. If Sha thinks he has two additional creators on offense with Femi and Dawes, he is mistaken.

We need more outside shooters in the floor. No reason Dre can’t start for Femi. He can make some 3s and shoots about 90 percent from the charity stripe.

Maybe Richmond would actually have another recipient in the starting lineup to make a 3 outside of hirself and Dawes.

SC violations are scored as part of the 26 turn overs not in addition to. But I get the point. Rough

Felt like we were constantly running the shot clock under 10 seconds all afternoon. Marquette's defense isn't that good. Guys need to look in the mirror for the majority of that blame.

Coach doesn't shoot 3 pointers.Dawes was 1 of 6 on 3's following 1 of 8 versus UConn and he's our best 3 point shooter!Big offensive talent gap between Marquette and SHU.
Marquette is the best offensive team in the country per KenPom analytics. Their defense is damn good too. Love KC and Femi defense, but neither can shoot the 3. Dawes has been way off from 3 last 2 games. Can’t win without putting the ball in the basket. 26 turnovers is unconscionable - you’d expect the PG to have some turnovers - Richmond had 3 turnovers and 5 assists.. Rest of the team had 23. That’s crazy.

This is a pipe dream. We’re lucky to go 10-10. This is a severely flawed team. This is what you get when you rely on the portal. We were left with a bare cupboard. 2 players we were counting on are out for the year.

A few weeks ago I thought this was a 6 or 7 win team in the league. I think you can up that baseline to 9 given the remaining schedule and improved play over the last two weeks. Tough to see them losing to DePaul or Georgetown at home and they'll likely get at least two of the other games. Even if they did drop one of those, they probably win a game they "shouldn't" to cancel that out.

I think this is a 10-10 team. Good enough for the NIT, but will need to get to 12-8 to have a shot at the big dance. I don't think they can get there. They don't pass the eye test and the consistency needed to go 7-3 over the final 10 games just hasn't been there. The last four games are a brutal close to the schedule too - @ UConn, vs. Xavier, vs. Nova (probably with Moore), @ PC. This team has to make hay immediately, starting next week at Butler, if it has any hope of making the dance.

I see a split in the upcoming two road games, a win vs. DePaul and a loss to Creighton. 7-7 heading into the final six. The two games with Villanova seem to be shaping up as the swing games that decide whether they win only 9 games or can get to 10 or 11.

The coach has nothing to do with 26 turn overs . By the way Marquette had 17 turn overs . Do you blame Smart ? The difference is they scored on our turn overs and we didn't . We are unfortunately offensively challenged . We have no alpha player on offense . Some teams are just bad match ups for us and Marquette is one of them .

Yesterday was ridiculous. I did not see that coming with so much on the line and from experienced players who had turned the corner as a team.

For any chance to get to the magic 18-12, 12-8 I really don't think it's possible without a sweep of these first 3 games out of the break next week: Sat 2/28 at Butler, Wed 2/1 at St. John's, Sun 2/5 at DePaul. We'll see.

That home stretch is too tough to have to be making up more bad losses. Even if you get the sweep you need to go 4-3 here:

2/8 Creighton
2/11 at Villanova
2/14 Georgetown
2/18 at Connecticut
2/24 Xavier
2/28 Villanova
3/4 at Providence

There was too much at stake to play the way we did and Sha is right. that falls on him. While Sha is man enough to acknowledge his role in the way we play so do the players have to accept their part in how poorly and inconsistently they play .
