I was as critical as anyone of him last year. I think he learned a lot from the situation last season and adjusted and the results speak for themselves. He deserves an extension if one is needed. I will say though that I think what is key for him is to have the coaching staff he currently has to remain successful, which means there's got to be $ there to keep guys like Shaheen around.
I also wonder if Willard is one of those coaches that would rather stay in a situation where he's highly comfortable as opposed to trying to go for what might appear to be greener pastures in the ACC and/or B1G. Everyone has a financial number that will make them say Yes or No, but he seems to be the guy that wouldn't want to go to a higher profile type of program.
Thoughts?
