Very true. He's been a leader on the floor. Looking forward to March Madness.Packed the stats tonight in every area and made some big shots to stop runs. Playing like a true MDAA now. Keys are his.
I would offer he's in the middle of his best stretch of BB at the Hall. The 2nd half was the best half of basketball he has played here. Completely took the game over and Marquette had absolutely no answer for him.
8 assists is great. Hope he can do the same and cut the turnovers a bit. Really only needs a minor improvement there. Cut turnovers by one or two and the A/TO ratio is fab.
For every sloppy TO, he loses 2 assists from terrific passes not converted. He is terrific and other than Dunn, no other guard in the league is playing as well as Isaiah. And go back and watch the PC game - Isaiah had a great game - been playing real well for a while. His turnovers are negated against lesser teams by our defense, as last night, we got the ball back mostly after each turn over...didn't really hurt us, but against better teams, turnovers are asking for a loss.
I.W. is a very smart player and those turnovers will decrease as time goes by.
P.G. is his ticket to the pros and now knows it.
He looks more relaxed out there when he shoots the last 3 or 4 games and seems to be taking shots in rythym. He still drives like a man against boys and always gets his shot off, but his outside shooting just seems more relaxed and natural and the results are better. Maybe his role at PG is clicking in his head and he is more prepared with his decision-making and he is thinking less and reacting/playing more? He mentions how much he looks at film with the team and individually quite a bit. Sometimes when you are prepared and know what you have to do it all comes together. Seems to be happening for him and it's fun to see.His outside shot has fallen the past 3 games. That's the big difference.
During this 3-game winning streak, he's shot 21/42 and 11/21 from 3. He has 17 assists and 13 turnovers.
And about 15 assists to guys at point blank range that were not completed. His game lately has been really, really good. He is running the offense and the offense gets good shots. And he makes shots when we desperately need a bucket. And he plays solid defense, far better than many star guards. But I agree that him making the shot is huge. Many say his shot selection is better. I think it more that he is making them. He hit two bombs vs MU that if he missed would have been the subject of 50 posts. His outside shot has fallen the past 3 games. That's the big difference.

The 24 second clock makes it very important that guards can shoot the ball well in the NBA. Open shots have to be taken and made. In fact that is why John Morton didn't last. He's a special talent. For whatever the reason his game is going to rely on the outside shot. If he can hit them at an above-average rate he'll be a top player. If and when he doesn't, it'll do him a disservice.
He is putting his eggs in that basket by taking such a high percentage of shots from the perimeter (41%) despite his exceptional ball handling and penetration skills, as well as his size advantage against most guards - even small forwards.
Has his stock blown up to be a NBA 1st round projection as of yet? I think if he ends up outplaying Dunn next time around, he very well may especially if Dunn is seen as a lottery pick.
