I have not had time to read anything posted on the internet yet so this may have already been reported.

I spoke to Whitehead's mom Eric at halftime yesterday. Here's what she said.

Her son injured his right foot in the USF game stepping on a defenders foot. It hurt but Whitehead just assumed it was a normal pain that would go away. It didn't but it felt good enough for him to start against Georgia. However, early in the game Whitehead hurt it again, told Willard and that's why his minutes were limited and he never reentered the contest.

After the game Isaiah told his mom who was in attendance he was going to sit out until the SJU game and then play. But when he got back to South Orange an MRI was imm performed which showed the stress fracture.

Fortunately the injury was caught early and there is a very good chance he won't sit out a long period of time.

Mom thinks 2 weeks but many of the SHU people I spoke to think more likely it will be 4 weeks. Of course this is all conjecture and will depend on the healing process.

The injury is between the 2nd and 3rd toes (moving left to right from the big toe) and then moving down about 5 inches from the top of the toes.

Willard would not address the amount of time that will be missed in his post game press conference. Don't know if that has changed since as I noted above I have not read anything on the internet yet.
